Today in Rock History April 21, 1986 Journey released their ninth studio album, Raised on Radio. It marked a major shift for the band, as founding bassist Ross Valory was replaced by Bob Glaub and later Randy Jackson. Drummer Steve Smith contributed to some tracks but was replaced by session drummers Larrie Londin and Mike Baird for the tour. The album produced three top 20 singles, including “Girl Can’t Help It,” “I’ll Be Alright Without You,” and “Suzanne.” It peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and earned double platinum certification in the U.S.
