My neighbor is 84 and lost his wife last year. He has no kids and I noticed he stopped cooking and barely turned his lights on. He was just fading away. So now, every single night when I cook dinner for my family, I make an extra plate and walk it over. We sit on his porch for 20 minutes and just talk. He told me yesterday that our little chats are the only reason he gets out of bed. It costs me nothing but a little food and time, but it means the world to him.

The Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced that the decades-long process of deepening economic ties between Canada and the United States has come to an end, signalling a decisive shift away from the era of ever-closer economic integration that has defined relations between the two neighbours for generations.
Prime Minister Carney, who previously served as governor of the Bank of England, will now be looking towards new economic frontiers for expanded trade, according to several Canadian economists, in response to the broken trust caused by Donald Trump’s erratic tariffs and irrational behaviour.
Prime Minister Carney said that many of Canada’s long-standing strengths, built over decades of close trade partnership with the United States, have now become vulnerabilities because the relationship has broken down.
He argued that Canada must reposition itself strategically, reduce over-reliance on a single market, and pursue more resilient and diversified economic partnerships.
