POLICE INTERCEPT BUS WITH AMMUNITION AND GOVERNMENT STORES A multi-agency security team manning a roadblock at Kanyonyoo along the Thika–Garissa Highway has intercepted a passenger bus ferrying a cache of ammunition and government stores, thwarting what could have been a serious security threat. The bus, registration number KCW 208A, belonging to Buscar Sacco, was en route from Lamu to Nairobi when it was flagged down for a routine check. What began as an ordinary inspection quickly turned into a major breakthrough. A thorough search of the vehicle’s boot led officers to a suspicious blue metallic box. Upon opening it, they uncovered a chilling haul: 19 rounds of 7.62x51mm G3 live ammunition, 116 rounds of 7.62x39mm AK-47 live ammunition, two empty AK-47 magazines, two machetes, a complete set of GSU ceremonial attire, two GSU combat jackets, three jungle green trousers, a GSU red beret, among other items. Preliminary investigations indicate that the box had been booked as a parcel at the Mokowe booking office in Lamu County, destined for Nairobi, with no sender details attached, raising serious questions. In swift action, the driver, Said Abdulrazak Ahmed Abadalla, and the conductor, Bernard Ochieng Odhiambo, were arrested on the spot. They, alongside the bus and the recovered items, were escorted to Kanyonyoo Police Station, where they remain in custody as investigations continue. Authorities are now pursuing critical leads to unmask the individuals behind the consignment and dismantle the criminal network. #FichuaKwaDCI. Kenya has a Double Taxation Agreement with the UK. So when an athlete like Sebastian Sawe wins big abroad the UK gets first bite at the prize money. Sawe earned 48 million shillings. The UK taxes him at 20 percent. That is 9.6 million gone right there. When he comes home he still has to declare the full 48 million to KRA. Kenya taxes its residents on income earned anywhere in the world. But because of the agreement KRA will not tax him twice. They give him credit for what he already paid in the UK. KRA first works out what he owes in Kenya on the whole amount. Around 16.35 million. Then they subtract the 9.6 million he paid in Britain. So in the end Sawe pays Kenya about 6.75 million. He still loses a big chunk overall but at least the system tries not to double dip completely. That is why there was so much noise about protecting athletes from heavy tax hits on their winnings.

I remember begging the officers to allow us to make Dr. Obwaka comfortable because he was in poor health. We were passed from one person to another, with no clear response (The Investigating Officers and the In-charge). Dr. Obwaka had shared that he had previously undergone heart surgery. When we had no other option, we called emergency medical services and requested an ambulance. Only then did they allow him to receive medical care. Imagine receiving medical attention in the parking area of the Judiciary at Milimani Law Courts. Dr. Obwaka had been unlawfully arrested from his clinic and charged on what were fictitious claims, which were later dismissed. Daktari rage in the light, and don’t let those who pushed your to poor health rest.! #RiPDrObwaka

Sabastian Sawe didn't break the 2-hour marathon barrier just because of the Adidas "supershoe." He's a damn good athlete. These East Africans all are. I had to tell the whole world on CNN. Everyone be guided. Thanks for your attention to this matter!

I know many will disagree with me on this, but hear me out. Safaricom under Bob Collymore felt different. It felt simpler, more innovative, and more customer-focused. When Bob was in charge, many Kenyans felt proud of what Safaricom was becoming. But ever since he passed, something seems to have shifted. The decisions feel less connected to customers, and products like OneApp only deepen that feeling. Maybe I’m wrong. But I can’t be the only one who feels Safaricom lost part of its soul after Bob.
