Mark Knoller was, by any measure, a legend of the White House press corps. His generosity with knowledge about covering the White House was as defining as the knowledge itself.

Mark was a unique and generous journalist. A human encyclopedia of presidential data. This is a great tribute.

What a fitting way to honor a legendary fixture of the White House press corps. Mark was not only one of the smartest, fairest and most perceptive reporters in the briefing room, he was also perhaps the most generous, always helping out his colleagues -- and his competitors.

This is awesome.
