@housewaiful hardly shocking that someone could have actual trust in their writers to the point of not wanting them to get flack
We do stick up for people we appreciate in different walks of life, could be friends, co-workers, family members etc, it's such a normal reaction
English

@housewaiful Or that they should be invested in what they're doing, especially being the face of the whole thing
Actors of course are a weird species because they're often the most exposed piece of the machine, they certainly are on television, but they have no control over it, but still it's
English

@housewaiful 2) I like to believe that making art sometimes can be a bit more than "just a job"
In general tho why is it so unconceivable that someone could stand up for others he was involved with, seems totally normal behaviour to me
English

@housewaiful In this case I get the counterarguement:
If I was working for a company and someone called them out would I give a shit? Probably not
But
1) If I believed in what we were doing, and also they were calling out something about it that's closer to me and what I did, maybe I would
English

@bestiewooster Probably didn't teach hyperboles at their school
English

@_FourStories also idk why ppl got so offended by the frida kahlo & bach mention as examples of having a formula, it doesn't mean that the show is as important as their works
English

@AlysonMB1 Oh but I'm not getting anything haha
I didn't expect it to blow up (especially as it's a new side account), but it's been mostly civilised, I just enjoy the conversation
English

@_FourStories Neither you no Mr Laurie should be getting any comeback at all over this.
The interaction was pretty civil really, and that is what social media is for.
I saw what you both said, and then I followed you both. That's how I see the whole thing.
Have a lovely day, everybody.

@cix_stormrage think that there can't be an exchange just because he's got 1M followers
I thought the actual back and forth was amusing, even if a bit snarky
English

@cix_stormrage Indeed, but in the end the ones that are not getting any backlash are said fans (if they're even fans, I'd say just idiots)
He takes responsability for them, she takes the outrage, they breeze through it
Utopistic to think they should be the ones apologising, but it's a shame to
English

@pawswithprose And she's handling it as a big attention seeker, really
English

@pawswithprose Pretty much
Most people understood he was being sarcastic and well-adjusted ones didn't feel the need to go and harass her, I'm sorry she got hatred (for this, at least) and understand why he apologised for that but people should take responsability for their own actions
English

@BiblioPhilip As I said, I understand that
He wasn't apologising for the content he was apologising cause he should've considered it would've been better to just let it slide
What I'm saying is, the way she's handled the thing, he could've gone without doing it
She's milking the attention
English

@_FourStories But also.. not really an apology. Part explanation, and led off with a very specific and pointed empathetic statement - not apologizing for what was said, merely IF it was the cause of OTHERs' vitriol.
