this is pretty bad, like if you're going to tell me about how good the power of humanity is while also ridiculing everyone who is sad and writes stories about their depression then you aren't really showing me a good side of what humanity is

Since we have alot of people coming out with their thoughts on this kid, I might as well repost this. I actually spoke to my partner who also works with alot of children, and we were both unsettled by Diana. Me, mostly focusing on her design because that's my line of field and him in her dialogue. But one thing we can agree on is her mannerisms. Diana does not act like a child, she portrays a very glorified idea of having a pretty daughter and many men look at her with objectification. There is a reason alt right men are so obsessed with this game and this girl, but not other "parent simulator" games many have brought up. Alot of these people like to play dumb and say, "it's just parental instincts". No, it's not. Y'all are are the same group who'd disown your child if they came out as trans. "Parental instincts" my ass.

My observations and opinions entirely, but here's where I believe alot of people got unsettled by Diana's design. She is not exactly a realistic depiction of a child, for being in a game that prides itself on realism. The main issue here is that she looks like she was created for a "certain audience", instead of a child character that simply exists. The best comparison I can make is between her and Emily from RE: Requiem. Both caucasian children of the same age, similar colour palette. What makes Emily's design read as a realistic child is her features and mannerisms. Her deep set eyes create a sunken look, her skin is clear but not "perfect", her wearing that dress makes sense to her backstory, she speaks and moves the way a child does, rigid and lacks abit of motoring. She looks "messy" the way a child without an adult would be. As for Diana, just to start off. She is wearing a puffed jacket that only covers her upper body. Has thick, long and luscious hair that doesn't exactly fit a child. [This is something that alot of people pointed out] she looks like she's wearing "no makeup" makeup. Her brows are groomed, looks like she has mascara, blush and lip gloss on. No skin imperfections either. She looks like a child actor rather than an average child [a problem with female characters in general, whereas male characters are allowed to look average]. She has the facial features of an adult with the proportions of a child [so her face looks like an adult with a neotenous face rather than an actual child]. Her face shares more similarities to Grace [an adult woman] from Requiem than Emily [the child]. And this may be an entirely me thing, but I have worked with alot of children before, and Diana does not move nor speak like an actual child. She acts cute and bubbly, yes, but I have not met a single real child who has her mannerisms. She has quick movements, makes very adult-like expressions that kids usually have trouble motoring their facial muscles for. Her animations is much more comparable to a "clumsy anime girl" rather than a kid who doesn't know how to express themselves. Alot of people were also a little uncomfortable with the fact that this kind of character only exist in a game where the adult taking care of her is a man. Not to say men cannot love children, it's just that when the same kind of unrealistic child characters are not there for games with a female protagonist, people will start asking questions. There's a reason the pragmata sub Reddit had to ban people for posting porn of Diana so early on, but we don't see stuff like that for Emily. Emily is a child character that was created with love and respect, so the community generally treats her as such. Diana is very much walking on thin ice here, because despite all evidence, unless the creators outright say "Diana is meant to be pedobait", people are just going to play dumb and flip it on you, because "you're the weird one for seeing it that way".

I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: the easiest way to explain anti-AI sentiments is that people are listening to what AI executives are saying and they don’t like what they’re hearing…
Ben Inskeep@Ben_Inskeep

An AI data center owner held a "town hall" in northwest Indiana but didn't allow the audience to ask any questions that weren't pre-submitted. The data center CEO went on to tell the audience AI data centers will cause people to lose their jobs. Compelling pitch, guys 👍

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if the corporate-state intelligence nexus can upload a U2 album to your device w/o your consent, they can also upload a word document which makes you sound like a crazed lunatic, title it “manifesto,” then frame you for a spree of crimes…

Very important to understand that all “climate goals” are fake, no one has any intention of meeting them, and there is no plan to deal with the causes or consequences of climate collapse You can soothe yourself with fantasies about China or solar panels or whatever all you like

It’s 2026, do you know where your climate goals are? Gov. Kathy Hochul’s new play to roll back parts of the climate law is only the latest chapter in the state’s nonlinear path toward climate victories. cityandstateny.com/policy/2026/04…
