@unusual_whales High prices aren’t temporary anymore.
When wages don’t keep up, this is exactly what happens. The middle class feels it the most.

@RiddleSphere @sciencegirl Exactly. Just like our eyes need constant tiny movements to see clearly, we need constant motion in life to stay alive and growing. Love this connection.

@echoingthevibe @sciencegirl Static kills.
Motion saves
Same for eyes.
Same for life.

Did you know
Your eyes are constantly moving, even when you think they’re perfectly still. These tiny, involuntary movements include microsaccades, as well as slower drifts and tiny tremors.
Without these movements, your vision would gradually fade because neurons in the visual system adapt to unchanging images. By continually shifting images across the retina, these eye movements help keep visual information fresh and prevent perceptual fading.
So even when you’re staring intently at something, your eyes are secretly dancing helping your brain maintain a stable and detailed view of the world.

@stats_feed This efficiency gap is insane.
Evolution spent millions of years optimizing something that fits in our skull and runs on basically nothing. AI has a long way to go.

How to Choose the Right Journal for Your Paper
Choosing a journal is not just about finding the “best” journal.
It is about finding the right journal for your paper.
That difference matters.
A high-ranking journal can still be the wrong target if your paper does not match its audience, method, or contribution style.
My simple framework:
fit first, rank second.
Before looking too much at quartile or Impact Factor, I would ask:
Does this journal publish papers like mine?
Check recent articles, not just the aims and scope page.
Who is the audience?
Some journals want theory.
Some want experiments.
Some want applied case studies.
Some want strong novelty.
Some want industry relevance.
Is my method strong enough for this journal level?
Be honest here.
A good topic with weak validation may struggle in a very selective journal.
Is the journal realistic?
Look at quartile, review time, acceptance rate if available, article types, and publication history.
Can I afford it?
Check the APC or publication fee before submitting.
Do not wait until acceptance to realize the cost is impossible.
Is it safe?
Check indexing, publisher, peer review process, editorial board, and predatory red flags.
My rule:
Make a shortlist, not a single target.
One ambitious journal.
One realistic journal.
One safe but still reputable journal.
That way, rejection does not send you back to zero.
Good journal selection is not about chasing the highest metric.
It is about matching your paper with the journal where it has the best chance to be understood, reviewed fairly, and read by the right people.
