When I speak about the need to end this war, I always focus first and foremost on the immense human cost being paid for military actions and autocratic brutality. However, some deliberately reduce my calls for peace to nothing more than territorial concessions. Let me be clear: I have no influence over any territorial decisions, nor am I the president of the country empowered to make them. Any attempt to twist my words into something else is a cheap and primitive provocation. That said, I firmly maintain that this war is already causing irreversible changes within the state and the nation. Most tragically, we are losing our population — people we may never be able to replace. Of the roughly 25 million Ukrainians still remaining in the country, 12 million are pensioners. Last year, Ukraine recorded three times more deaths than births. This war is literally destroying the Ukrainian nation.

The Russian Aerospace Forces are vividly distributing FAB-500 bombs The Russian Defense Ministry has published a video of frontline aviation operations against three exposed enemy targets in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions. According to the ministry, the targets were identified during reconnaissance activities, and the strikes were carried out using FAB-500 aerial bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK). Targets hit: ▪️ UAV launching pad of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - in the area of the village of Novopavlivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. ▪️ PVD of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - in the area of the village of Shchurovo, the occupied part of the Donetsk People's Republic. ▪️ PVD of the 121st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade - in the area of the village of Sukhanovo, Kherson region. The UMPK continues to confidently "reach" the rear nodes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a depth of tens of kilometers from the contact line - drone control points and temporary deployment sites of personnel are becoming priority targets.

Today I am in Britain. We will have our bilateral talks with Keir and a meeting in the E3 plus Ukraine format: President of France Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer. Our teams have already done substantive work to prepare all the meetings. Now it is important to discuss everything and agree on the key things at the leaders’ level. The main focus is our defense in the war, greater cooperation for the security of all of Europe in the area of air defense, and our shared view of diplomatic prospects – Europe must be part of the negotiations and must be strong. A meeting with His Majesty King Charles III is also scheduled for tomorrow. I thank the United Kingdom and all our partners who, through real steps, are helping us strengthen the protection of life and increase pressure on Russia for its aggression. Russia must end its war.

Visually confirmed vehicle losses for each side in May: Ukraine lost 159 vehicles, while Russia lost 28, giving us a ratio of 1:5.6 in favour of Russia. When excluding armoured cars and MRAPs, Russia lost 26 vehicles, while Ukraine lost 73, giving us a ratio of 1:2.8 in favour of Russia. For self-propelled guns, it is slightly worse for Russia this month, with Russia losing 6 while Ukraine continued suffering high losses at 27 (1:4.5 in favour of Russia). Tank and IFV losses remain extremely low for both sides, as small groups of infantry is almost exclusively used for assault operations. So, while you see sources like ISW and Deepstate showing supposed net Ukraine gains for May (even this is not the case), the rate of attrition continues to favour Russia, as evidenced here.
