BREAKING: META $META IS LAYING OFF 8,000 EMPLOYEES GLOBALLY Engineering and product teams are getting hit hardest, as per Bloomberg. But the math behind the layoffs tells a very different story than the headline: Analysts at Evercore estimate the cuts will save Meta about $3 billion. Meta's projected AI capex this year is $145 billion. The layoffs cover roughly 2% of the AI bill.
