There have been six farm attacks in South Africa in the past week. On average, there is still almost one violent attack per day on a farm in our country. Nothing normal about that.

Farm attacks in South Africa: (22โ29 March 2026) 1. 20 March โ Fochville, Gauteng A 73-year-old businessman and five workers were attacked by seven armed suspects. The owner was assaulted and shot at (shots missed), while workers were tied up and locked in a storeroom. 2. 24 March โ Fochville, Gauteng A family was attacked on a farm. The owner and his son were shot, while his wife and daughter were assaulted. The suspects fled with the familyโs vehicle, which was later recovered with some stolen items. 3. 25 March โ Vaalwater, Limpopo A man was shot in the arm and leg during an attack. Suspects stole cash and cellphones before fleeing. The victim was hospitalised. 4. 25 March โ Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape An elderly couple (71 and 77) was murdered on their farm in The Crags. It seems the male victim was attacked while sleeping, and his wife was killed while trying to protect him. One suspect has been arrested. 5. 26 March โ Kameeldrift East, Gauteng Male victim was murdered on a smallholding. Signs of a struggle were found, with facial injuries and a gunshot wound. A firearm, brush cutter, and electronic equipment were stolen. 6. 29 March โ Marlena AH, North West Two suspects threatened a victim with a firearm and stole cellphones and electronic equipment. President Ramaphosa confessed that South African municipalities are collecting water bill payments and spending the money on staff salaries instead of maintaining infrastructure โ directly explaining why taps run dry and communities protest.
At the same events Deputy President Paul Mashatile condemned the United States government as a bully while admitting in the same speech that SIX-MILLION South Africans living with HIV depend on American PEPFAR funding to stay alive โ and that South Africa does not yet have a plan to replace that money.
Ramaphosa also admitted that 63% of South Africa's 257 municipalities are at risk, that local government has become the weakest link in the country's architecture, that 14-MILLION citizens went to bed hungry in 2024, and that the Constitutional rights promised THIRTY YEARS AGO are still not a lived reality for millions of South Africans. #madlangacommission #ramaphosa #juliusmalema
