Armed clashes erupted on 9 June between Ethiopian & South Sudan’s forces near Burebiey village in #Gambela. Long seen as one of Ethiopia’s more stable regions, Gambela region has faced rising violence since May 2025.

A federal blockade on goods entering #Tigray in late May was lifted on 1 June after high-level talks. Federal authorities said the restrictions were imposed over suspicions that goods were being illicitly rerouted and exported into Eritrea.

OLA/OLF-Shane militants killed at least 10 people and abducted five during coordinated attacks on 6 June in Benshangul-Gumuz region. The violence follows a 21 May attack in Anger Meti town that killed 18 civilians, including 12 children.
