@HeatherJarret17 Each State's constitution describes how Administrative Law is executed there and it is not uncommon for some States to restrict rulemaking authority for agencies. Great Question!

@ACRorg currently in Indiana state agencies do not have to get approval from the governor for each emergency rule. I’m wondering if this is the norm.

2023 Summer Conference dates are Out - July 9th through 12th. The summer conference will be hosted from the The Grand Hyatt in Washington DC.

Oregon has been removing rule language with harmful meanings or histories, i.e. rather than “inmate” they use “incarcerated individual” and rather than using “homeless” as a adjective for the person, use “individual whose living circumstances meet the definition of homeless.”

Hot off the press! Louisiana has a new Style Manual for rule writers. It is conveniently sized (fold-over) as a desk copy. This information is still contained within our larger handbook along with a current APA copy, submittal guidelines, and general information from rule review!
