@ADudik0v @MarioNawfal I cant say for certain, but I think they melt it down and separate the bronze to its component parts Cooper and Tin. The base metals are far more useful for production of just about anything other than bells and 3rd place medals.

Cast in 1908, locals buried it in 1942 to protect it from Soviet forces who melted church bells into weapons. It came out of the ground perfectly preserved.
