Asian clams are an invasive mollusk that can be found in our freshwater habitats and have a relatively thick shell compared to other bivalves. In areas with high populations of the species, these clams outcompete native freshwater mussels for food and space. #dewetlands

While many are familiar with the larger species of the catfish family, Madtoms are very small and are rarely seen. Growing up to 3 inches in length, these vertebrates can easily hide under logs or swim through rocks in freshwater wetlands and habitats. #dewetlands
