Our webinar on Artificial Intelligence, scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, is organised under our Safe Sisters program, which for nine years has strengthened the digital security and online resilience of women human rights defenders (WHRDs) across Africa. Designed as a fellowship initiative, the program equips participants with practical skills to navigate online risks, including cyber-harassment, surveillance, hacking, and data loss, while fostering a supportive network of women technologists within civil society. Through a combination of self-guided learning, hands-on tool practice, mentorship, workshops, peer exchange, and small grants, Safe Sisters has built a strong community of digital security advocates. To date, the program has trained 136 fellows across 15 cohorts, spanning countries including Uganda, Nigeria, South Sudan, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, Lesotho, and Sudan. #DigitalSecurity

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has created new opportunities for protection and empowerment, while also introducing emerging risks, including surveillance, misinformation, and online harm. Join us for an insightful conversation with our Safe Sisters Alumni, where, through shared experiences, the discussion will offer practical insights on how to safely navigate digital spaces and use AI responsibly in advocacy and community work. Our SafeSisters program supports women human rights defenders (WHRDs), journalists, media professionals, civil society actors, and activists to build the skills and confidence needed to stay safe, both online and offline. Hear directly from WHRDs who have completed the Safe Sisters Fellowship as they share their experiences, lessons, and practical strategies for navigating digital security challenges. Be part of the conversation. #DigitalSecurity

Ahead of our SafeSisters webinar this afternoon, we engaged SafeSisters alumni on the topics they would like to explore. One of the most requested themes was the use of Artificial Intelligence(AI) in their work. In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, AI is becoming increasingly central to how we communicate, organise, and advocate. This session will therefore unpack how human rights defenders can meaningfully engage with AI, exploring its benefits, limitations, and risks. The discussion will also demystify AI, looking at how it can be used for digital safety, empowerment, and safer engagement on online platforms, while also addressing concerns such as misinformation, surveillance, and online harm. Register via the link below to be part of this timely conversation on how human rights defenders can safely and effectively use AI in their work. us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regist… #DigitalSecurity #SafeSisters

World Wildlife Day gives us an opportunity to focus on solutions and see the importance of saving our planet's incredible wildlife, including the irreplaceable, yet often overlooked, contributions they provide to our natural world.

Feminist Republik 2025 n’était pas un événement, mais un acte politique. Au Kenya , des féministes africaines ont montré que guérir, résister et financer sont indissociables pour construire des mouvements qui durent. 👉 Lire l’article : bit.ly/3M1EUlN
