You’re playing the results now, yes. Obviously. One year ago, the Darnold / McCarthy decision was much more of a coin flip.
I would also leave room for McCarthy to still be a high-end starter too, but you aren’t ready for that conversation…

Accuracy was off, he sailed multiple throws
I dunno the percentage of responsibility he’s owed for the false starts — guessing we’ll find out — but that cant happen
He made some nice plays and dropped some dimes — but consistency wasnt there and must improve
