A man with no working truck convinced Wall Street he had built the next Tesla. His company hit $30 BILLION. All he did was push it down a hill with no engine. > Trevor Milton founded Nikola in 2014, named after the same inventor as Tesla. > The goal was to build hydrogen powered trucks that would make diesel obsolete. He had no trucks. > In 2018 he released a promotional video called Nikola One In Motion. It showed a sleek semi truck accelerating smoothly down an open highway. Investors went wild. > What nobody knew was that the truck had no engine, no fuel cell, and no propulsion system of any kind. > Milton's team towed it to the top of a hill, tilted the camera to hide the slope, and let it roll. > He spent the next four years doing the same thing with words. On podcasts, television and social media. > Investors were told Nikola could produce its own hydrogen. It could not. They were told the trucks were ready for production. They were not. They were told orders were flooding in. They weren't. > In June 2020 Nikola went public. Within days the company was worth $30 BILLION, more than Ford. > Milton's personal stake hit $7.3 BILLION overnight. > A $32.5 MILLION ranch in Utah followed. A record for the state at the time. > In September 2020 Hindenburg Research published a report calling Nikola "an intricate fraud" built on "an ocean of lies." Milton resigned within ten days. > A federal jury convicted him of securities fraud and wire fraud in 2022. Sentenced to four years in prison the following year. > He never went. He was free on $100 MILLION bail pending appeal. > He and his wife donated $3.2 MILLION to Donald Trump's 2024 campaign. > In March 2025 Trump gave him a full pardon. The pardon erased $168 MILLION in restitution to defrauded shareholders. > Nikola filed for bankruptcy the following month, leaving thousands of investors with nothing. The company never had a product. The only thing that was real was the $30 BILLION valuation, the $7 BILLION that landed in his pocket and the pardon that made sure none of it had to be returned.

Trump announces an indefinite cease fire because Iran called his bluff. Everyone knows Trump is all talk and a scared little boy. The consequences of his failure will be with us for ages, even after he’s mercifully out of office. And MAGA will say he’s tough because he tweets

Those tankers everyone is celebrating aren’t coming here for crude oil. They’re coming for diesel, jet fuel, and gasoline — refined products — and that distinction is everything. US distillate inventories dropped another 2.1 million barrels just last week. They’re already 3% below the five-year average. We are not flush. We are depleted. Meanwhile US refined product exports hit 6.3 million barrels/day in January — up ~10% from a year ago, near record highs. Diesel led the increase. More going to Europe. Less staying here. eia.gov/outlooks/steo/

What if there was a bank account available, that required you to deposit monthly, what you would have paid an insurance company in premiums, for an ACA silver plan. So for a family of 5 about $2100. The amount would then be used for Stop Loss Insurance set at $30k dollars. About $300. Another $200 would be used for local Direct Primary Care for your family The balance would be in YOUR bank account. Like an HSA, It could only be used for approved medical expenses. If you never have any medical expenses, you will get to keep the money plus checking act level interest, when you turn 65 If you have a medical event that is more than what you have saved, your bank will loan you the money you need to pay for it, up to the $30k stop loss trigger You would repay that amount using the monthly $1600 net deposit. Once the loan is paid off, the deposits start to accrue to you again. This is not insurance. It’s a specially designed bank account that gives you control, support, a doctor to work with and catastrophic financial protection. Lots of work and issues to be addressed. But I was curious what people think Let me know !

The one debt you can’t ever pay off ? Your insurance premiums. You literally will pay an insurance premium monthly, till you die. But we don’t look at it like it’s a debt paid to an insurance company that will do all it possibly can never spend it on your care. We are working on a non -insurance solution. The day HSAs no longer require an insurance policy, it all will change. finance.yahoo.com/sectors/health…

This story makes no sense. The wonan says she earned less than $22k last year, which means, depending on her filing status, she owed no federal income tax or a few hundred dollars. And even if all her income had been taxable in the 10 or 12% bracket, no tax on tips would have saved her maybe $1000. That's not nothing, but it's a long way from being enough to pay for cancer treatment and vacations.
