@georgesmiltins @jackgarswood @NOHIOGOLF @IanAndrewGolf @KeithRhebb I think Sleepy has the best architecture & land mix possibly in Ohio. I would say Moraine or Camargo holds that currently. Moraine does not have the strategy of SH. And SH is pretty much built on the CVNP!

@jackgarswood @NOHIOGOLF I think Country gets a little better (because it’s already really good). If @IanAndrewGolf or a @KeithRhebb can get there hands on a place that’s been largely untouched I think they can make it really special. Not necessarily top 100 but maybe in the top 5 in town 🤷♀️

Charging a flat rate for local and National play should tick off the taxpayers currently. Many of the courses Jack listed give priority times to locals which we do not

@jackgarswood @georgesmiltins @IanAndrewGolf @KeithRhebb To me, a lot of this comes back to financial reality. How much better? At what cost? Cleveland can’t support $100 public course greens fee. That only works to attract national play that shuts out greater Clevelanders. No way that flies with taxpayers or the metroparks…

@NOHIOGOLF @AndyTFE @the_fried_egg @A_BaileyCLE Gil Hanse’s team is probably going to be in Cleveland over the next couple of years to restore The Country Club (which will be awesome). I’m sure some of them would be delighted to walk around Manakiki or SH with Metroparks leaders and talk about the architecture. 4/4

@NOHIOGOLF @AndyTFE @MrEstvanic @DUMM_it_down @the_fried_egg The restoration could also be subsidized by a model similar to Bethpage charging a premium only to “out of town” play. If you build it will they come? Just look at Sweetens and WP9. Except we have 2 within 30mi of each other

I would agree that the metroparks do a nice job with the playing surfaces. The 8th green you’re referring to was likely meant to be representative of a Redan

@kevcmoore Second shots and shot making are rewarded more opposed to just drives. Also, creativity around the greens is such a bigger factor opposed to hitting flop shots out of heavy rough

The recent removal of the Pagoda at the #countryclubofbuffalo allows the visual emphasis to be placed upon the quarry wall and green complex. Wonderful improvement to an already great course. @wvugolfarchie

Today is (was) like the rush for a must see concert, when tickets go on sale. Camargo Club opens its course to the US Am hopefuls every year and is routinely marked “Site Full” in hours. I was registered at 9:05, 5 min after opening and at 2:00 all 84 spots were taken...Love it

Claremont has one of the coolest routings I have ever played. Fun to see it on a busy day with all the criss cross holes.
