One winter of getting up 2-3 hours before sunrise and this will be repealed. Zero sunshine is protected with this act.

A traffic stop can look routine, but there's no such thing for the officer walking up to that window. They never truly know who or what they're facing, or how desperate someone might be. @AmyPeikoff We already tried experimenting with year-round DST & it was an utter failure. It was supposed to be 2-year experiment & it was rescinded within 9 months.

The people advocating for permanent standard time are value-oriented, concerned w/ health & safety. Permanent DST trolls have no argument except they like “longer” days, and resort to name calling & insults. That the pro-DST trolls may “win” this round is disheartening.

@A_Team_Tim @markallanbovair i lived through this as an eleven year old. I went to school in NJ in the dark with street lights on at 8am. It ended after a few weeks in the FALL of '74 after almost universal complaints.

I beg you, please don’t do this. Standard time is closest to our natural rhythm. Permanent DST will be disastrous!! @SecKennedy @POTUS

I became radicalized AGAINST this issue when I learned that in a permanent daylight saving time regime, NYC doesn’t see the sunrise until about ~8am through much of December.
