I hope you have some positive news to tell us on your company phone use policy for drivers? She claimed some sort of emergency that wasn't 999 - that is the only acceptable use of a phone here and it clearly wasn't a 999 call, just some pathetic excuse she scrambled together on being caught.

@Loretta86316516 @annmarielawson1 I get that but here in U.K. 10mph over would certainly land you with points and a fine. Friends have been fined and have had points for doing 23 in a 20 limit in London.

Oh I know the law in the USA. I taught my kids and grandchildren to drive and taught them not to speed. But as I posted I told them if they do speed never go 10MPH over the speed limit. It is odd how some people don’t fully read or understand a lighthearted response even with a laughing emoji.

FFS my first ever traffic offence and I’m retired, all the years I worked, rushing from one thing to another and never once speeded and now this…..well I deserve it I guess 😔 gutted though!

As for emergency services the screen that allocates jobs is locked, when the vehicle is moving, it auto allocates. Using a mobile in traffic reduces your awareness of surroundings even if still.

I sense that this is out of temper with the times but, for once, I am on Rachel Reeves’s side. Civility matters in politics and, if we stop policing the boundaries, things slide very quickly. I’m afraid I don’t see it as remotely brave to shout at a woman while you drive away.

@Loretta86316516 @annmarielawson1 1 mph over the speed limit is speeding. If you don’t know that then pack up driving. At 39 the Speedo on the car would be showing around 42. I am not saying I don’t speed I am just saying the law is the law

Sorry you got a ticket as you sound like a good, safe and respectful driver since this is your first infraction💕Going 9MPH over posted limit is not speeding to me🤣💕 My grandgal got a speeding ticket for driving 87MPH on an Interstate with 70MPH posted speed limit. She tried to fight it in court but loss and paid the ticket. Then 3 months later she received a letter stating her driver’s license had been suspended because her excessive speeding occurred within the 1st year of having her driver’s license. In order to get her license reinstated she must pay $100.00 and take a driving class. When she told me about this and complained about how the class is “just a waste of time” I fussed at her. I told her she needs to stop speeding since I taught her how to drive and emphasize to never speed but if she does speed to NEVER go more than 10MPH over posted limits💕
