I have just spoken with Slovakia’s Prime Minister @RobertFicoSVK. We need strong relations between our countries, and both of us are interested in this. It was important to hear that Slovakia supports Ukraine’s membership in the European Union and is ready to share its experience of accession. I invited the Prime Minister to visit Kyiv and thanked him for his invitation to come to Bratislava. We also discussed the possibility of a personal meeting in the near future. Our teams will work on scheduling it.

I met Prime Minister @RobertFicoSVK in Paris today. We discussed the need for affordable energy prices for Europeans while maintaining secure supplies for Slovakia and the EU. Our energy independence is at stake. This will also be a central topic at our upcoming EUCO Summit. We also discussed the rollout of #NextGenEU and steps needed, including in the justice area, for Slovakia to benefit from these investments to the fullest.

Today marks 4 years of Russia’s reckless attack against and illegal seizure of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant ZNPP, gravely endangering nuclear safety and security. Russia must release detained #ZNPP staff and return the plant to Ukraine.

We reiterate our full support for the IAEA’s professional, independent and impartial work and are grateful that the Agency continues to monitor the situation.
