ANNOUNCEMENT! Musical chairs in Downing Street don't matter when the real power sits next door at 70 Whitehall. Reform UK will scrap the Cabinet Office and the Cabinet Secretary and restore power to No 10, to ministers and to Parliament. Full policy document here: preparingforgovernment.com/fixing-the-cen…

@GrumpyLofty @LucyTCWife @SusanStanley1 Agree 💯. The donations to @LucyTCWife were made because the donors chose to give. Whereas feeding the children of other peoples children is imposed by this ridiculous government. If you have children you should feed them yourself.

Enjoyed Kemi’s quip about free breakfast clubs being a defining legacy of this Labour government. When the Tories deride breakfast clubs, it shows how out of touch they still are. A £450 saving is a lot for working families. Easing the morning rush makes a big difference.
The Labour Party@UKLabour

Our Labour government has started rolling out free breakfast clubs to every primary school in England. Here is Michela's story 👇

In a few months Starmer will be gone. At which point all those Ministers and MPs currently saying "We can't change leader, it will be a disaster" will all suddenly say "He's done the right thing. It's best for the party and the country". And they think the voters will forget.

Gordon Brown sold 395 tonnes of our gold reserves at the bottom of the market, and - stupidly - told the market in advance. Gold has since risen 1500% and the gold he sold would be worth £40 billion more today. Now Starmer brings him back as his Finance Envoy. A sick joke

For decades snobby North London human rights lawyer types thought they knew how to run a country. They’ve had 22 months at it, completely screwed it up, and now they’re getting their arses handed to them. Not as clever as they think, are they?

The election results today have clearly been tough for Labour. I’m sorry that we’ve lost so many brilliant Labour colleagues across the country, and thank them for their service. And I’m sorry that so many voters felt unable to vote Labour at these elections. @Keir_Starmer has taken responsibility and committed all of us to delivering on the mandate the country gave us at the last election. The Labour Party shouldn’t waste a minute of the time we’ve been given to get on with that job. If we turn inwards the public will think we’re walking away from that challenge. The next election will have unity or division on the ballot. A Britain built for all, or a Britain for the few. Britain is at its best when we come together and rise to the challenges of our time. And Labour is at its best when our values of equality, collectivism and unity power our project for the British people. We can deliver a better Britain in the years ahead and beat the prospect of division at the next election, but only if we come together, get on with the job and face the future.

I’m really torn about the upcoming local elections. I’m not sure I can bring myself to vote Reform, but I know I’d prefer them over the Tories, Labour, or God forbid the Greens.

Pigs in the trough. This is the despised MP @bphillipsonMP's mother's charity. WWiN, a women's charity, had an income of £2,356,822 as of March 2025. £1,164,592 just from government contracts. Any conflicts of interest, Ms Phillipson?

@benonwine She’s exactly what she appears to be. Can you imagine this oik meeting world leaders? We are a laughing stock because of @Keir_Starmer now. With this thing in No 10 we will sink to a level not even thought of!

“WESTMINSTER WOBBLE: Rayner’s night at Strangers’ Bar leaves MPs stunned” 🍺 🍷 It was meant to be just another evening in Parliament but Angela Rayner ended up being the talk of Westminster after a long night in Strangers’ Bar. Earlier in the evening, witnesses say she got into a heated political debate and “wasn’t holding back”, at one point reportedly shouting: “I’m a socialist.” But it was what happened as she left that really got people talking. Onlookers claim Rayner staggered into the main door with a loud bang, leaving her bent over for a moment from the impact. The door was taken out the next day for repairs although officials insist that wasn’t linked to the incident. One person in the bar described her as “absolutely obliterated”. Since then, a privacy screen has been put up at the entrance shielding MPs from view as they come and go. Just another night in Westminster… but one that’s definitely raised eyebrows. But should MPs be allowed to unwind like the rest of us after a long day!

This is magnificent. A man on BBCQT asks Rachel Millward from the Greens to specify where she thinks racial hatred comes from. She can't answer. He tries again She still can't answer. So nervously waffles on about the cost of living. He beautifully exposes her stupidity 🔥

@TheGriftReport You were quite right to do it. We’re fed up with struggling to understand phone callers who can’t speak our language. Don’t apologise for speaking the truth!

Councillor apologises after asking council call handler to speak English as critics agree with her Eastbourne Borough Councillor Elaine Hamilton, in her 60s, called the council helpdesk and struggled to understand the operator. She politely said “I’m sorry but I can’t understand you, can I speak to someone who can speak English please?” The comment triggered a backlash with some social media users branding her racist. Hamilton has now issued a statement apologising and saying she regretted any offence caused. Critics including local residents and fellow councillors have agreed with her, arguing English should be the language used for all council services so ratepayers can be properly understood.
