If i put a green block in place of a health icon, as long as I've used a green block to denote health in other areas the player will get the connection. If I use a kitten for health in one place and a kitten in the other, how are they supposed to know that's health?!

I've seen a lot of posts recently about placeholders in game and not making them look "final". It's not about making them look final, it's making them look to fit the bill that's required. If you're using something that doesn't look right. How's that gonna feedback for UX testing
