theeducationbridge.co.uk The Education Bridge is a new website dedicated for school leaders. It is free to use with no sign up and no cost. It allows school leaders to search, filter and find great companies to help you develop your school further. By the sector, for the sector.

Getting down to work with our fantastic Coventry and Warwickshire edu leaders in our ‘Teaching Walk Thru’ training today. A great programme and a commitment by these great schools to give their children the very best offer.

@samanthareveley @STyne_Council This is a sign of the current system and simply wrong , your daughter deserves every chance to thrive in education and have the support she rightly deserves . I am sure you are fighting this all the way , best wishes .

My daughter, who is profoundly deaf and wears cochlear implants has just been rejected for an ECHP by @STyne_Council. The reason? For not having an enduring disability that will affect her education. She has no access to sound at all without her cochlear implants.

Great to work with some fantastic early years leaders from Worcestershire and Coventry today . They showed a real appetite for giving their children the best start in education . Shows how committed EYFS practitioners and leaders are .

Took part in delivering a presentation this afternoon to some Deputy Head teachers about being an Early Adopter school of the new EYFS Framework etc....I was SO nervous and didn’t think I could do it! Turns out I was able to do it! Must believe in myself more!

@MissEYFS1 @EYTalking it needs start from your curriculum pathway and school ethos first then over to your staff for the inspiration . Why not ask them to take an aspect each and explore how they can present the curriculum journey from start of EYFS to end with the knowledge learned along the way👍🏼

@Acornedltd @EYTalking Thank you! Any ideas you’ve seen/done during staff meetings to initially create a vision with all the staff? I’m conscious that it needs to come from them as much as me for it to work 😀

Hello 👋🏼 hosting a meeting and the plan is to create a vision of what we want our children and staff to gain from our new play based ethos..has anyone else done this or have any fab ideas? I’m making a display board in the corridor to use as a working wall for this #EYtalking

@michael_merrick The job is hard full stop. Huge responsibility and lots of pressure particularly at the minute . Like most high pressure jobs it gets more comfortable the more you experience it. Lots of help out there if needed and make sure you balance operational and strategic work.Good luck.

@ProfDanielMuijs I agree Daniel , the school uniform is a good leveller for all children from all backgrounds and it could instil a pride and sense of belonging to the school if underpinned by the school leaders . In essence it can be a force for good if managed in the right way .

On the one hand, school uniforms are not repressive. On the other they also have no discernible impact on behaviour. Whether they instil pride very much depends on the perception of the school. They can limit fashion competition between pupils.
Tes magazine@tes

School uniforms are 'outmoded' and 'repressive' and should be abolished so that pupils can 'express themselves', ministers have been told tes.com/news/abolish-r…

@adven_slearning @JamieThomasTFW Spot on ! It is about fun and engagement . A “hook into wider learning “ . A vehicle for discussion , role play and reading . Oh and allowing children a time to use their imagination . I think that could be classed as impact .

Discussion point: I am genuinely interested...do you think that dressing up for Word Book Day has any impact?

@Miss_H_0311 @MissEYFS1 @EYTalking Sorry about this . The dfe are standing firm on their stance for nursery classes . However unions and local authorities are trying to make sure the right children are prioritised to limit the numbers and keep staff safe . Good luck .

As Gavin Williamson suggested earlier, I'm hereby contacting Ofsted to let them know about my daughters' schools. They need to be aware of how hard every single member of staff is working, @Ofstednews @McAuleySch and they have been doing so since last March and still improving.

Love this . If you are a parent or work in a school, make sure you share this and forward your positive comments about the hard work school staff are undertaking at present to support the children . Get on to ofsted and tell them the positives .

@SwailesRuth Ruth, local authorities are making their own call based on the lack of clarity about school nursery classes and are giving heads discretion to choose or not . PVI S are open, reception upwards closed , school nursery discretion. More to come tomorrow after union pressure . 👍🏼

@michael_merrick Michael you are spot on . I support lots of schools who are stating that they have much higher numbers of key worker children wanting a school place this week . Meaning little difference to the virus. Plus article this week stating teachers have three times the infection rate.
