@capitalistaus @AdamShurey @JEChalmers Government has been intervening in the housing market with unfair tax breaks for over a generation. You should admit that you don't want non-interference, just interference that suits the already better off.

Go open a small business then and see how you go after GST, income tax, payg, superannuation, workers compensation, payroll tax. Then throw in mandatory insurance, rising electricity and gas prices, council rates, council inspections, compliance costs. It’s all a big bloated bureaucracy aimed at keeping a dependent apathetic, entitled voting base. As for your claim fraud is irrelevant, speak for yourself, I certainly don’t appreciate my tax dollars getting ripped to the tune of $5,000,000,000 and that’s just ndis. God help us if we delve in deeper. Removing investment liquidity from the housing market will lead to a short fall of new housing development as 1st home buyers will simply not be enough to drive the prices so developers can cover the costs of building. If you remove the incentive of profit, then they simply stop developing. Mayen take a look at Johannesburg and see how government intervention in the housing market has worked out for them.

BREAKING: Our responsible approach in today’s Budget means we’ve improved the bottom line by $45b. Labor’s responsible economic management means that debt is lower, deficits are smaller and the Budget bottom line is stronger in every year. We’re getting the Budget in better nick because that helps to fund the things that Australians need and deserve like Medicare, aged care and cost-of-living relief.

@isthisok_ @henrywinter You forgot the word "alleged" . Almost all of these charges pre-dating the Pep era and those that do are basically a disagreement over the accoutancy treatment of image rights rather than the already disproved allegations involving sources of finance. Why would they be mentioned?

Does honesty pay? Haaland could have reacted theatrically to Gabriel and got him sent off, and a 3-match ban. Arsenal have cover but Gabriel would have been a loss. Haaland is honest. Stayed on his feet. PL Key Match Incidents panel says Gabriel should have got red not yellow 1/2

@jkelly569 @anth0888 It's a federal seat, not state or local. A certain Queensland Senator just spent weeks campaigning in South Australia's state election, did you have a problem with that?

@matt_berry01 @AntonyGreenElec @Potstirrer111 The swings against Labor were in very particular areas - the Adelaide outer suburbs are poorer than the inner suburbs. The rabble rousers roused the rabble so to speak. Still not a significant number with Labor having a 60% 2PP in a majority of seats.

@Cyru5kd7 @LNobbins Rodri and Pep both have a further year on their contracts so how is it "awful planning" even if it happens?

@LNobbins Losing Bernardo, Rodri & Pep all in one summer is crazy & awful planning from the club. We genuinely now need minimum 3 midfielders in.

Losing Rodri would be sickening. I still think he’s the best midfielder in the world. Build up will get worse! Only positive in a scenario where he leaves is that some of my favourite performances this season have been with Nico in the side, who provides more OOP security.

Rodri: "I have one year left on my #ManCity contract. At some point we'll have to sit down and talk… Even though I've played for Atleti, [Real] Madrid isn't a closed door for me - you can't turn your back on the best clubs…” [via @RadioestadioN]

I will never forget this Trafford performance. Triple save in the only moment where we were under serious pressure, excellent ball playing to put off Arsenal’s press, play out from the back and construct chances by going box to box, and ultimately pin Arsenal back. Wonderful.

@clintonmead @Rarma_ @AntonyGreenElec It tends to be the populist right that attacks postal voting. They are trying to build distrust in the system. Reform UK and MAGA use the same playbook and we are now seeing it from One Nation.

Yeah, very normal. Definitely not going to be heavily weighted to one party (we all know which one). Common trend across all western countries with mass immigration. What a shame democracy has become. Time for verified voter ID for all elections, with in person voting only.

445k early votes cast for South Australian election, 35% of enrolment. Thankfully due to a change in the law, most will be counted this evening. It might take a while to count them though so expect a pause in result updates mid-evening.

@AntonyGreenElec @Rarma_ It's proven? Show us your proof! I vote by post as I'm a carer as do my 2 disabled stepkids and partner. How dare you advocate disenfranchising us in order to solve a non-existent problem!

@Rarma_ As I said, given postal voting is heavily used by farmers, people away on holidays, the infirm and various religious minorities, you would need a good argument to disenfranchise them.

@davidch52030642 @AntonyGreenElec Ambulance response times have improved significantly. Ramping persists because of insufficient aged care beds. Without the substantial investment in ambulances, staff and hospital beds it would be far worse. Are you actually suggesting Labor poisoned the coastal habitat?

@AntonyGreenElec It doesn't matter. Labor will win regardless. Despite the coastal habitat being poisoned, hospital ramping worse than ever and people dying waiting for a ambulance.

Nearly a third of the candidates contesting the SA lower house election are from small right-wing parties. Think they're running to boost upper house tickets. Bad news for the Liberal Party as preferences from these candidates tend to leak away from the Liberals in the House.

This country is broken. If I was a millionaire I would've moved to Australia. I'm not so we have to deal with the situation we are in. Tax, immigration, education, transport, employment, NHS, hospitality, farming, welfare & Net Zero all need addressing. Reform UK will do this!

@LNobbins Trafford suits the historic City/Pep style of play very well. I don't think it's a coincidence that Reijnders, a player signed before the change forced by the Don signing, was MOTM today. Our other Academy graduates also thrive with the style of play they were brought up with.

Trafford’s gonna have a great Premier League career I’m sure; his ceiling seems really high. Aside from the Spurs error he’s impressed whenever given a chance. Made some genuinely elite saves and passes at times. Wonder where he goes in the summer.
