Sometimes twitter is like a large room full of conversations, and you're trying to decide which to admit you're eavesdropping on

On a walk with my grandson a group of ladybugs lighted upon us. It was delightful and I realized I haven't given the mysterious world of insects enough heed. I vow to change that. Did you know a group of ladybugs is called a "loveliness?" How poetic. How true. How perfect.

Quick note: your brutal honesty? Ain't nobody asking for that. Where is you clever honesty? Your compassionate honesty? Your insightful honesty? Uplifting? Poetic? Empowering? Take your brutal honesty and go sit in the back with all the devil's advocates.

I understand that Christians might disagree on precisely how to apply the (HUNDREDS of) biblical directives to welcome immigrants & strangers. I don't understand how turning away refugees, deporting Dreamers, breaking up families, & sending people back to persecution are options.

It’s worth taking note of the young black activists over the past few years who have passed away in large part because of the work they were doing every day to combat systemic racism. People underestimate the physical & emotional toll it takes to convince the world you’re human.
