There are two 70-win teams in NBA history. Both had the league MVP. One was unanimous.
One had the best perimeter defender of his era. The other had a 2x DPOY winner.
Both had the best 3-point shooters of their respective eras. One had the greatest ever and another top five. Both had elite benches.
One had the greatest coach of all time with the greatest system of all time. The other had a player who learned that coach’s system, modified it, and helped implement it for a new era.
LeBron beat one of those teams while leading everyone on the court in every major statistical category, in a historically impossible situation. Jordan was a part of one of those teams.
LeBron is Everest. Jordan is K2.

@LaPiochey his second lie was even more egregious

@nobody36027512 @Inspirenaire This is fair. Was less defending that & more defending what set off the disagreement.
English

@Aha_Jon @Inspirenaire If you just out of the blue call a black man a drug dealer and ask what he does for a living, like it's your business, because he sat down, then you're a racist. You can post whatever meme you want to...

This guy was running in the park and took a rest on the bench. The rest is an unfortunate normal that happens more often than not. Everything isn't a battle and some things just aren't worth it. This style of deflection is a choice but absolutely not the only option. This is a skill that Black Americans need even though it's not preferred. How would you have handled this type of "tension"?
English

I still love how the person who made this couldn't think of six Black people

@hardwoodjunkies @GetsBuckets_ The point isn’t made or broken by the source, & only requires an understanding of statistical math (speaking of not knowing how to use something).
& why’d you stop at 15?
English

@Aha_Jon @GetsBuckets_ sourced from facebook and reddit. do you know how to use the internet?
5 of the top 10 and 7 of the top 15 highest postseason net ratings of all time came prior to the last quarter century

Malone and Stockton being outta their primes and still sweeping the 98 Lakers with 4 all stars including Kobe and All NBA 1st Team Shaq really is something.
Malone won MVP in 97, 2nd in 98 and won again in 99.
The reason they don't get their credit is primarily because they never won a ring.
A good example of this is the 2013 Spurs vs 2014 Spurs, they are basically the same team but the 14 Spurs are heralded as an all time great team (they are) but the 13 Spurs are near enough forgotten about.
People (and somewhat rightfully so) have a bias towards winning so MJ's competition in the finals is downplayed because he was never won in the Finals where as LeBron's comp in the Finals is hyped up because they beat LeBron.
The problem comes from the fact that when arguing who the GOAT is people give credit to LeBron's comp and not MJ's.
What is more dominant or a better indication of being the GOAT player, the guy who looses more often than he wins or the one who wins every time?
tadrip@tadrip1
@GetsBuckets_ Malone and especially Stockton were outta their primes too when they faced Jordan. Maybe Curry, KD, and Kawhi get their credits (and slander too unlike Drexler and them) because they still play at very high level to this day?
English

@GetsBuckets_ “MJs competition in the Finals is downplayed because they never won whereas LeBron’s comp is hyped up because they beat LeBron.”
No, it’s because his competition sucked.
The only team LeBron faced that’s comparable to Jordan’s comp is the team all you haters call an easy ring.

@thompsonian87 @Fiizop 1) He shot horrendously.
2) They were not 1 tweak away from it being a series
English

This series is Kobes one career black eye. Bron has 2011 Dallas. Kobe shot them out of the Detroit series. Kobe fans need to accept this, I watched it live as a huge fan and it was tough to watch. I think he couldn't stomach Shaq getting a 4th finals mvp on him. He just wanted it to be his turn.
