@CaoinFitz Yeah exactly. Once I see some action there I’ll start feeling better about it but it’s tough to turn a blind eye for me at the moment. No shame to anyone using the platform to be clear, it’s just not the space for me at this time 🫠

@alannamatty The politics side is also worrying. Letting edgy content get a pass for the sake of being edgy. I think once they start clamping down on that kind of content on the platform and hold creators accountable for their actions it might help.

So my music streaming and music streaming community friends who have moved over, thinking of moving over or are staying put on Twitch what are your reasons for doing any of the above? I think it's widely known that there is a 95/5 sub split but that doesn't seem to entice a lot of the amazing musicians over and nor should that be the main reason! We as musicians are always creating and pushing ourselves and others to be the best we can be in an insanely competitive industry. Being able to make music for a living is a dream for all. The difference between 50/50 and 95/5 in my view is going back to a 9-5 or being able to pursue your passion without fear. I have talked before about moving over to an entirely new eco system is a massive deterrent for streamers and viewers due the the fall of mixer, losing sub streaks and badges, lack of stream elements integration (for now), other streamers actions on the platform (which from my knowledge the music side largely ignores as the music category is separate) or not enough knowledge of the ecosystem. With the amount of heartbreaking Twitch layoffs recently and the announcement that "twitch is still unprofitable" even with 140 million active users a month. I feel that music streaming can offer something incredibly unique that no other category can offer. The support from listeners, viewers and other streamers is nothing short of astounding and I think in a perfect world music live streaming would be its own thing in a standalone capacity. Thoughts?
