Three young Hindu girls studying at a private college in Mangaluru had gone to the Didupe Waterfalls in Belthangady along with three young men. During the outing, the three men allegedly behaved inappropriately, and all three have since been arrested by the police. The accused have been identified as Abdul Khader Altaf (36), Faizal Adil (27), and Usman Salim (18), all residents of Kasaragod, Kerala. On Wednesday, May 20, the group of six visited Didupe Waterfalls in Belthangady Taluk. During the visit, the three men allegedly misbehaved with and sexually harassed the young women accompanying them. When the women protested and raised an alarm, people present at the spot intervened, apprehended the accused, and informed the Belthangady Police Station. The Belthangady police subsequently took the three men into custody and ensured the safety of the three women. A case has been registered at Belthangady Police Station, and the Swift car used by the accused has been seized as part of the investigation.
