@brucefenton When I realized politics was a dead end is when I embraced Bitcoin fully. We cannot win a political battle, only exit. Really need to get you on @michaelmalice.

The Libertarian Party and its events are not serious. It’s performative cosplay. Many do it for ego or to fill a void or because it’s hard to face that making real change is so hard. Some think it’s more pragmatic to just side with the Republicans. I used to think so — but it’s become clear that the mainstream / core GOP people hate liberty, Constitutionalism and real conservatism. They’ve become an increasingly dumb party of nationalists who focus on the cult of personality. Neither solution works for liberty minded people and small L libertarians. So how to make change with only 3% of the voter base? Seems the best method is to advocate, educate and act as a spoiler from the outside to make it so the most statist Republicans and Dems can’t win. Move the needle. Not sure what else we can do.

If you celebrate Bitcoin Pizza day by buying a pizza with your debit card, or even making a pizza at home, you are missing the point. The holiday isn't about the pizza, it's about the start of the circular bitcoin economy.

I just completed an IBD with Bitcoin Core 0.31 in under 20 hours on my 5 year old laptop. The last time I tried on the same machine, it took multiple days. The difference is insane. Thank you, Bitcoin Core team, for constantly making my node faster and more efficient!

Dear Chasey Lane was my favorite song when I was 17. Haven’t heard it in about 20 years. Randomly came on Sirius just now, and I still knew every single word. My wife with that stare 😂

This is nonsensical drivel. Bitcoin’s hash power can do nothing but produce Hashcash SHA256 hashes that fall above or below the current difficulty target. If you produce a hash below the difficulty target you can add a block to the ledger and get the block reward for doing so. These hashes have no other purpose and certainly aren’t doing anything to protect critical military infrastructure.
Perianne Boring@PerianneDC

Bitcoin isn’t just money—it’s infrastructure. The U.S. Navy is already using Bitcoin’s encryption to protect military data. This is bigger than finance. It’s about securing everything of value.

For those who don't get it, ask yourself: would you like Bitcoin as much if Strategy owned 90% of the supply?

@TFTC21 @Nneuman I just had to put a red line here so people could understand that when above the red line they DID have enough on-hand for deposits…and it’s only maybe 15% of the time lol

@iBobbyShell Having Bitcoin ious in demand are good on any layer. Having dollar ious are bad on any layer for Bitcoin, even if built on Bitcoin.

@alpacasw Like Hal said, there will be tokens issued from banks backed by bitcoin. It is just embarrassing that we don't yet have what everyone wants and demands. However stablecoins get on Bitcoin, I am excited to see those volumes.

HOT TAKE: Here's something I don't hear enough people talking about, honestly. Bitcoiners spend a lot of energy criticizing VC-funded crypto projects, and sometimes rightfully so. But we also have to be honest about our own blind spots. There should be real stablecoin infrastructure on Bitcoin by now. The demand exists. The question is whether or not leaders are listening to demand and focused on quality GTM.

@brrabski The lending against collateral only makes sense for leverage/yolo speculation crap anyway.

I used to to send money around cheaper than banks. BTC is still good for savings. Lending against collateral works on Aave. It could’ve done p2p trade finance outside the banking monopoly and many other things. The pumps and dumps weren’t mandatory, but many people got rich on them and decided permissionless Finance was second to replacing the dollar, preventing „unfair” transaction ordering, and getting paid for „staking” Staking for new coin supply is perhaps the worst idea to have happened to crypto. The ultimate free riding vision that the whole industry chases and made up stories about it’s value, of which there isn’t any.

Crypto is Dead. Recently, two long-time crypto friends who gained massive financial independence independently said things that made me realize it’s over. One is setting up a traditional bank. The other wants to go back to Big 4 consulting. What happened? Three things 🧵👇
