Russia’s strikes on civilian energy infrastructure in Ukraine are a war crime — and an attack on all of us. Overnight strikes disconnected Moldova’s key power link with Europe. Alternative routes are in place, but the situation remains fragile. Russia alone bears responsibility.

The European Council approved the inclusion of the Republic of Moldova in the Roam Like at Home zone, starting January 1, 2026. Moldovan citizens will be able to make calls, send SMS, and use mobile internet in the EU at the same tariffs as in Moldova, with no extra charges.

Great news for Moldovans! Today, the European Payments Council approved Moldova’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). This means faster, easier, and cheaper euro transfers across Europe—whether sending money home or doing business. Another step closer to the EU!

We honour today the heroes who defended Moldova’s sovereignty and independence in 1992 against Russia’s aggression. As the Kremlin once again tries to divide us, using energy as blackmail, we stand firm. Peace and democracy are our choice and sovereignty is our right.

The truth is simple. Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia is the aggressor. Ukraine defends its freedom—and ours. We stand with Ukraine.

Three years of war. Three years of sacrifice. Three years of courage. Ukraine has shielded Moldova from the horrors of war. We will never forget. Our hearts, our homes, and our support remain with the people of Ukraine. Слава Україні!
