UOX PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS UPDATE:
Following valuable feedback from you, the Ugandans on X community, regarding the recently concluded nomination process, we have held a series of engagements and reached the following resolutions to guide the next phase of the electoral process:
Instead of limiting the race to four (4) candidates, we shall consider all twelve (12) most nominated candidates, as reflected on the list below.
The Acting Head of the Electoral Commission, Mr. @erich_mboowa, will reach out to each of the twelve candidates to confirm their willingness to contest. Only those who express interest will proceed to the next stage.
All candidates must be willing to publicly disclose their full identity, including their facial image and official names as they appear on their National Identity Cards. Failure to meet this requirement will result in disqualification.
In summary: The election will no longer be restricted to four candidates, but will instead include all nominees from the top twelve who meet the eligibility criteria and are willing to serve.

Clarifications: @KwikirizaNova emerged among the most frequently nominated candidates. However, he had previously made it clear that he is not interested in contesting for the UOX Presidency again. In respect of his position, he has not been included among the final nominees. @NyasHDaily (Father Kabuzi) also received notable support during the nomination process. However, in consideration of the standards of transparency, accountability, and verifiability required for the UOX Presidency, the account was not included among the final nominees. The selection of the Top 4 has been based on a consistent review of nomination patterns across the entire thread, guided by fairness and the need to uphold the integrity of this process. Let the people decide. Voting details will be announced soon. #UOXDecides2026

A URGENT WAKE-UP CALL TO ALL UGANDANS 🇺🇬
Fellow citizens,
A deeply alarming bill known as the Protection of Sovereignty Bill 2026 is now before Parliament, backed by the ruling NRM caucus.
If passed, this legislation will officially classify every Ugandan living abroad – including those in the diaspora who faithfully support our economy and families – as “foreigners”.
The consequences are severe and far-reaching:
- Speaking out on Ugandan affairs, advocating for change, or even sending remittances could result in up to 20 years in prison or fines of 2 billion shillings.
- This directly violates our Constitution and threatens the rights of millions of Ugandans at home and abroad.
- It risks crippling the billions in annual remittances that build our hospitals, schools, and sustain our communities.
- It endangers regional trade, East African Community relations, and the very civic space that defines our democracy.
This is not protection.
This is a direct assault on our sovereignty as citizens and on the future of our nation.
We cannot afford to remain silent.
We must reject this bill immediately.
