at Kolkata's Asutosh College yesterday, saffron marks were smeared on portraits of Tagore, Netaji Subhas Bose etc.
Netaji once visited a temple in Singapore. When he came out, he rubbed the Tilak off his forehead and said 'A religious mark is IMPERMISSABLE for a man in uniform'

Hindu erasure comes easy to this lot. The Mughals were not the longest ruling Muslim empire. That was the Delhi Sultanate with 5 separate dynasties. The Mughals lost Delhi within 30 years of Aurangzeb's death. They lost much of their empire well prior to that. Essentially an empire that lasted around 200 years. Delhi Sultanate went for 300 years. Wonder why no one ever focuses on the Delhi Sultanate? Not much to show? Or their depravities somehow seem even more indefensible?

I'm often asked why do I keep picking on Faye Dsouza. Here's why: I don't like dishonesty. I hate it. If you're pretending to be holier than thou, then please match it with your work. Or just STFU and put "I'm anti-hindu" in your bio and I'll stop. Add that disclaimer. Once that's established, I'll let the viewer decide. But no, if you call yourself a journalist, then record everything. Even if it is personally against your bias/choice. You do not have the option to be a curator. If you wanna curate, then you're either a marketer or a propagandist. There's no grey area here.

This 'Aryan -> Turk -> Brit' rationalisation/fabrication is very interesting. You cannot understand the European mind until you get that calling the EU column in Economist "Charlemagne" is just fine by most well-meaning folks there. Charlemagne after all succeeded where Aurangzeb later failed.
Of course, this overlaps with their 'many -> 1 -> 0 Gods' teleology or historicism. They therefore find this Hindu/Pagan/Dharmic resistance to being conquered and reviling that past as strange, almost standing athwart history yelling stop. What they are even less prepared for is the radical, who does not want to just conserve/slow, but reverse/renew.

It is the data and deep study thereof. Nothing to do with my personality or spirituality. I am not particularly spiritual in any case, at least not in any kitsch sense. Bhog mein Yog type purush hoon.
Just very fortunate to be born at the right time in the right nation to the right parents. Just boring dumb luck to observe (and perhaps contribute in a small way to) this brilliant rise of Bharat after centuries.
