@LambethLivingSt @LiveableWells The land you talk about- public road & pavement space- does not belong to residents nor are they/we in a qualified position to determine usage. Roads are not exclusively for motorists now, it’s a shared space for all kinds of vehicles. And roads are definitely not for “play”.

@Ants__Bee @LiveableWells There's land between our houses that belongs to everyone. It's been monopolised and made dangerous by the minority of people who drive a private car. While it's not exclusively for children, it's not exclusively for motorists. Motorway is an equivalent exaggeration to playground.

@LambethLivingSt @LiveableWells A road is not a “community space”. A one or two lane street cannot be compared to a motorway. But the main point here is- everyone, please don’t let your kids play in the road.

@British_Airways why do you bother offering the option for hand luggage only if we are then forced to hand in our bags when at the gate? Delayed flight, late to an event and now I have to wait on the other side for my hand-luggage sized bag, delaying me further. Unacceptable.

Have to travel to the coast last minute tomorrow morning. I don’t want to drive, I’d rather get the train; but £60 for 2 people is excessive and far more expensive than the cost of petrol. How are we supposed to not choose our car in Streatham when rail fares are exorbitant?

@ldaviesmusic @lambethltnwatch @lambeth_council @SouthernRailUK Haven’t seen any evidence which show what the balance between long & short trips was along the A23. But given it is a main route out of London, it would be fair to assume that a huge portion of traffic is passing through & doesn’t necessarily start or end in Streatham.

@ldaviesmusic @lambethltnwatch @lambeth_council @SouthernRailUK I don’t shop there however, if I was to do a “big shop” there, I wouldn’t walk. Assume Tesco has free parking. A lime bike can’t carry the load even with additional equipment, availability is unreliable & is more ££. 🚌 fare would also cost more than ⛽️& services are unreliable.

@pugw5sh @lambethltnwatch @lambeth_council @SouthernRailUK It seems unfair for on the day travel to be so much more- it’s not as if you’re paying for a seat. On the train today (had to go back again), I heard people talking about how vastly different their fares were for the same destination, just 1 station apart but in the same zone.

@bananatransit @lambethltnwatch @lambeth_council @SouthernRailUK The system is so fragmented through privatisation & siloed decision making- the rail companies do what they like, TFL manage their roads & means of transport one way & the councils manage their roads in another. The impact of the lack of joined up thinking & design is painful.

The rail card system is so archaic- if I want to travel with my partner, I have to get The Two Together, for me alone, a Network Rail - I think the discount system needs to be simplified.

Streatham Hill LTN account is hiding replies to it's tweets, but certainly a very transparent scheme which has no issues. They tweeted an out of context screenshot from the @lambethltnwatch WhatsApp and are blocking & deleting people trying to put it in context. Slow hand clap

You don't get, or perhaps don't want to get, the burning sense of injustice we feel about the way LTNs mess up so many lives. It's not the children we are having a go at (like the man in the car). It's the crassness of putting up that video when others suffer due to that LTN.

You mean: "a few local residents campaigned for this LTN." And yes, Lambeth Council did send emails & a few leaflets via the awful "Commonplace". But consultation ? Only one Streatham Wells-wide one & not yes/no question. Residents indicated their opposition via downcast emojis !

Local residents campaigned for this LTN since 2018. The council held multiple consultations with residents. The plans have been adjusted. Huge numbers of people want this LTN.
