We found a direct correlation between PDE and the star formation rate surface density (ΣSFR), supporting self-regulation models. We attribute the modest differences that we found compared to previous works to the effect of varying resolution and sensitivity (e.g. Figure 11)

We find that the molecular gas ratio (Rmol) correlates best with the dynamical equilibrium pressure, PDE, among potential drivers studied, with a median correlation coefficient of ⟨ρ⟩ = 0.89.

The molecular gas ratio (Rmol) encodes important information as to the evolution of the interstellar medium (ISM) in galaxies. We found that at > ~0.4 optical radii, atomic gas dominates over molecular gas among our studied galaxies. This varies however from galaxy to galaxy.

An example of how extended the HI disks are compared to their CO disks. We found that HI is detected out to 20 − 120 kpc in galactocentric radius. The typical radius at which ΣHI reaches 1 Msun pc^−2 is ≈ 22 kpc, which corresponds to 1−3 times the optical radius.

Incredible week. On Monday my paper got accepted. On Tuesday Sebastian (Master student I co supervised) resubmitted a paper and it got accepted a few hours later. Yesterday I gave a summer research lecture for the REU and NAC summer students at NRAO and it felt incredible ✨🌌
