A singed synagogue door caused way more alarm and retribution in Australia from the entire Australian government than the 6 Australian citizens who’ve just been beaten, tied up, tortured and assaulted by the IDF. Just what in the flying bojangles are @AlboMP and @SenatorWong doing about this? Hello?

@PeterCronau Victorian Local Government (Emergency Housing Accomodation) Act 1945: councils could effectively take control of dwellings mostly unoccupied for 28 days (a bit of airbnb didn't count) and give a 2 year lease to the homeless at a council-determined rate. Needs to be on agenda.

Forcing people into homelessness: perfectly legal. Being homeless: a crime. “As homelessness surges in Australia, many councils…are abandoning their welfare-first approach, instead choosing to disband camps, send eviction notices to people living in caravan parks and in some cases, considering fines for sleeping on footpaths. “Moreton Bay council was among the first in the country to forcibly clear a tent encampment. It has also threatened $8,006 fines for sleeping in a car, storing items, or having a pet while homeless.” theguardian.com/australia-news…

It looks like AI datacentres are solving the Fermi Paradox. If quicker they use up water we don't have, the quicker we'll understand the solution.

@PeterCronau Given we know the US alliance is a negative, all Australia needs to do is go "oopsies" and have Pine Gap (Harold Holt, etc) turn to dust - not recoverable. Maybe give a couple of minutes warning so personnel can get out. Efficient breach. We've nothing to lose but our chains.

Is this what Australian PM Anthony Albanese is afraid of? Is this why we have US bases? s this why we have #AUKUS? “The Biden administration was infuriated over Pakistan PM Khan’s refusal to grant rights for U.S. drone bases in Pakistan, as well as his neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war.” “US State Department diplomats threatened in 2022 that Pakistan would suffer greatly if Khan remained in office — but that “all would be forgiven” if he were removed in a no-confidence vote.”
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

For the first time, the original Pakistani cypher — cable I-0678, the document that triggered the removal of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan — released in full by Drop Site. The classified document, known as a cypher, shows that State Department diplomats had threatened in 2022 that Pakistan would suffer greatly if Khan remained in office, but that “all would be forgiven” if he were removed in a no-confidence vote. The Biden administration was infuriated over Khan’s refusal to grant rights for U.S. drone bases in Pakistan, as well as his neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war. @MazMHussain | @ryangrim | @worqas 🔗 Read the full story at Drop Site News

It seems neanderthals had jasper dental tools, drilling out tooth decay in operations that are calculated would have taken 50 minutes. Either the patients were tough, or the neanderthals not only had skilled dentists, but quite good pharmacologists too. youtu.be/7x6Nm-ZTCK0

@DavidShoebridge If the ALP won't raise a finger to protect Australians from illegal aggression by foreign countries in international waters when it's clear cut, it sure won't lift a finger to protect ordinary Australians here from rich bastards exploiting loopholes with expensive lawyers.

Now is the time for Labor to show what they will do to protect their own citizens, or if they will once again choose to put Israeli politicians above Australian people. If they won't release the 11 Australians on the Sumud flotilla there should be action, not words.

Appalling footage of Israel's Minister Ben-Gvir attacking human rights activists including Australian citizens. Penny Wong has summoned the Israeli Ambassador but will she tell him she's concerned or if there are going to be real consequences like ending the two way arms trade.

@MFWitches Australian media and politicians are proving to us, by their praise of Hollingsworth, that protection of the Epstein-type coverups are not unique to Trump's America. And if they'll whitewash for a dead man, imagine what they might be doing for those who are still in power.

Peter Hollingsworth was one of the most disgraceful men in Australia’s history and all attempts to eulogise him by the media in coming days shame them and harm all of us. Among many, many other disgusting transgressions including the multiple times he refused to remove pedophile priests from their jobs despite evidence of (and even admissions of) child sex abuse, he said this about the repeated rape of a teenage girl (ALL sex with 15-year-olds is rape since they’re not old enough to consent): “My belief is that this was not sex abuse, there was no suggestion of rape or anything like that, quite the contrary. My information is that it was rather the other way round.” @abcnews and all other media organisations should be embarrassed by their coverage praising Hollingsworth. He was an absolute monster.

@GrogsGamut @Mark_Butler_MP @AlboMP The government is not gutless at all. I know this, as I did physiology back when uni was free. We learnt you can't shit without a gut. And the government is shitting on us. Shitting on the most vulnerable of us most of all. Which proves both a gut and the cruelty.

There's not a single Australian @AlboMP would protect from Israel, is there? Nothing about Zomi. Nothing at all about the flotilla, or the doctors serving in Gaza. Just gravely concerned inc. and some mumbly centrist trite about a two state solution. This should terrify us all

@leckie_cameron I'm sure our government is strategically taking the moral high ground. No one will be able to accuse Australia of stealing research or poaching talent from the country that (checks the US-loving ASPI) publishes the most in the premier tech journals. aspi.org.au/strategist-pos…

@P4Pandora666 @DavidWolfe People need to distinguish useful AI (some not needing data centres), and efficiency of VMs, from the massive data centres needed for surveillance and generation of cats in costumes videos. AI is a means. ENDS matter. Get rid of the useless/evil ends.

@DougCameron51 AUKUS is only the worst decision the government has made that has been become public knowledge. ... and so far. When they've got away with putting other countries first so blatantly, rubbing our noses in it, you know there will be even worse decisions in the future.

More AUKUS chaos. This is the worst decision the Labor govt has made. A conveyor belt of our money to the military industrial establishment. No guarantee of delivery. Weekly horror stories of delays, incompetence and production problems. Marles presiding over a defence disaster.

@FetchStep Any party that wanted to remove the ALP from power, and had a sliver of interest in preserving Australia's sovereignty and economy, and indeed defence, would point out the dangerous flaws in AUKUS. That the LNP (and ONP) don't says they are corrupt, bought, traitors, too.

The US Navy has released its shipbuilding schedule to 2032 . It does not show an allocation for #Aukus Subs. "For the Virginia-class, the plan invests $14.0B in FY27 and $62.9B across the FYDP to procure two submarines in FY27 and 10 across the FYDP. Labor are lying about Subs .

@grtdane @OrevaZSN He said AI data centres. There is a difference between data-centres for AI and for virtualized services (there are cloud social networks, office suites, without ai) Anti-social AI (eg for surveillance) needs massive data centres. Pro-social AI for ECG interpretation doesn't.
