We are horrified by the attack on a synagogue in Manchester today, on Yom Kippur. Our thoughts and solidarity are with the family and friends of the victims, and with Jewish communities across the UK. We stand with you.

We agree with the Prime Minister that action they have taken so far on child poverty is the "first step". The only logical next move is to scrap the two-child limit to benefits in full at the Autumn Budget. Time is ticking for Britain's children.

We are delighted @scotgov has taken action to scrap the unfair two-child limit, potentially lifting 15,000 children out of poverty in Scotland. It is now more urgent than ever that the UK Government scrap this cruel policy, to stop children in the rest of the UK suffering.

Hard agree. A timely way to invest in kid’s health would be to plug money raised by the levy into funding the commitments we’re expecting in the UK government’s Spring 2025 child poverty strategy. Tackling child poverty will make our children happier, healthier and focused on the future, rather than stressed about the here and now. #Budget2024

Investment in SEND is v good and much needed, as is reducing UC debt payments for struggling families. Expansion of free breakfasts great, but let’s make sure they set our kids up well. Bolstering the benefit fraudsters narrative is depressing, and DWP accessing claimants bank accounts sounds terrifying and intrusive to me, let alone UC claimants. And the big elephant in the room is choosing not to scrap the 2 child limit, which could have funded by increasing fuel duty in line with inflation. All eyes on the child poverty strategy next spring 👀 #Budget

Yesterday, we called on the UK government to introduce a ‘child lock’, a double lock that would benefit all children by ensuring that children’s social security payments increase by whichever is higher out of earnings or inflation.
