@FixingEducation There are people embedded in their social media circles that are inciting this behavior I guarantee it. None of this is organic.

“Teen takeovers” have now been reported in cities like Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, & Orlando. Shoplifting, assaults, robberies, & property damage. These same teens are sitting in middle and high school classrooms behaving awfully, & receive little to no consequences.

@yunta_tsai They said it couldn’t be done. Dozens of Starlink satellites simultaneously track Starship at all times and close the link through a gap in the plasma that is located in the leeward region towards the aft end of the rocket.

With teacher cuts and class sizes on the rise for next year, the board has decided to hire a Chief Visionary Officer to help our teachers create a vision of success for the class-size increase.

“I'm just going to put it out there. Once you have been travelling around America for a substantial amount of time, when you come home, it is a very strange and slightly, truthfully, depressing feeling, okay? Traveling around America really opened up my eyes, really allowed me to see how I could be living, and just how many opportunities there are, and how many different amazing places there are, all in one country. Like, since I've been back home in the UK, I haven't felt like myself, which sounds so crazy. I now live for that adventure, that crazy lifestyle, that meeting new people, seeing new people every day, and I just long for it. And in America, it is so amazing. Seriously, Americans, what have you done to me? I need to come back in October, at the end of October, back to America. I can't wait. It's really kerfuffled me coming home from America. It has kerfuffled me.”

@SciInTheMaking Student behavior is enabled by the school system and administrators not upholding any discipline.

What I was trying to say is that you can’t solve the problem by throwing more money at it. Teachers are leaving because of student behavior (check the replies in the tweet below). Yes, teachers deserve decent salaries but that alone won’t fix the issue.
Ms. Sam@SciInTheMaking

Let me put this simply. If I had two options... Option A - 100K salary with minimum behavior issues or Option B - 125K salary with major behavior issues I would go for Option A. I wouldn't think twice about it.

@FixingEducation Too bad they don’t suspend these students anymore, we desperately need to uphold discipline. It’s becoming impossible to teach any more.

Do you know who dislikes the lack of accountability for misbehaved students in schools even more than teachers? The good kids who actually want to learn. They’re often the ones being silently bullied, distracted, intimidated, or forced to sit in chaos every day while administrators let it continue. When a severely misbehaved student is suspended, it’s often a relief for the students trying to do the right thing, too.

You want to fix education? Stop treating teachers like they're the problem. They're the ones who showed up every day, documented everything, and told you the truth all year. Start there.

MY STUDENT TEACHER QUIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCHOOL DAY. A parent sent 14 emails overnight because their son got a zero after turning in a completely blank test. Admin asked her if she had tried “building a relationship” before giving consequences. She left her classroom lanyard on the desk and never came back. The part that really got me was watching admin apologize to the parent before even asking to see the test. Nobody in that meeting cared that the page was completely blank. The entire conversation was about “repairing trust.”

@supertolerant What we’re all not talking about enough is that this intentional dumbing down of our own people. We shouldn’t sit back and mock them, we need to direct this anger towards the people in power who deserve it.

I was young in the 80s/90s in the UK. I don’t remember my parents ever going out to eat, except when we were on holiday (in the UK). I don’t think they ever took me to a fast food restaurant, or ordered takeaway food. People today have no clue how working people lived. /1
Raven@raven_brah

Boomers seem to forget that fast food used to be a normal, everyday expense for them because it was affordable. You could get a burger easily on minimum wage, it wasn’t some fancy treat you had once a year as a reward for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.

🤯My goodness! I've always wanted to see Superheavy jump off the pad like that! Although I don't think this was as fast as they originally planned. But, now that the pad isn't holding the vehicle back anymore we can see the true monster thats been hiding this entire time.

The “eating out” versus “cook at home” debate is a symptom of a much deeper societal problem of entitlement.
