WHAT IN THE STEPH CURRY???????????????????

Let's keep the pain train rolling, this time with Conrad Wallem's foul in the box on Paul Rothrock - caused by atrocious positioning from multiple players - as Roldan drives down the center of the pitch, not only is Timo correctly in position to defend, but for some reason McNaughton is using the buddy system and standing close enough to Timo to hold his hand, which was completely unnecessary. Compounding this was Wallem being far too narrow and giving Rothrock acres of space to run into on the left side once Roldan made his pass - had Wallem been properly positioned in a wider area, that pass would have been almost impossible and McNaughton would have (hopefully) slid over slightly to cover Rusnák on Roldan's left. Instead, Wallem misses the interception, is forced to scramble to get back to defend Rothrock, and steps on his foot as Rothrock cuts back, creating an easy PK call. Awful positioning by CITY was the primary culprit on this foul that created Seattle's 3-0 after the PK conversion.

This is just so cool. Dike has been through so much and hasn’t scored in ages. Feel-good moment, for sure

Edu’s gonna get some first team run for the first time in 2026!

@RoccSTL Hartel doing striker-like finishing numbers as a mid is a feature. Córdova doing midfielder-like numbers as the DP striker (while currently stagnant in production) is a valid discussion point.

Let’s break down the goal FC Dallas scored last night. After Timo’s deflected interception, CITY wound up with all three center backs and both midfielders bunched tightly on the left side. This left the entire right side of the pitch wide open. Orozco collected the ball with Logan Farrington on his hip, and his options were: play a short pass to an open Edelman, lay it off for the retreating Polvara, or pass back (and to the left) to Timo. He chose the short pass to Edelman, but under‑hit it. That left Edelman flat‑footed and unable to react as Petar Musa, who made an outstanding read and covered roughly 22 feet while the ball traveled, stepped in to take the ball off Edelman’s feet and turn upfield. Orozco immediately shifted across to cut off Musa, creating even more space on CITY’s right. Musa had a choice of either Farrington centrally or Deedson in acres of space on the wing. Musa hit a perfectly weighted pass to Deedson, who gathered and slipped his shot past both Bürki and the recovering Timo, who couldn’t get set in time to affect the attempt. In the end, the goal came from a combination of CITY’s poor initial positioning, Orozco’s misplayed pass, Edelman being caught flat, and a fantastic read plus an even better pass in transition from Petar Musa.

We are football country. The United Football League is coming to Oklahoma City in Spring 2028!

What a touch by @Nicholas_gioacc! 💯

GALAZZZZOZOOOO FROM HARTEL!!!! HE GRABS THE LOSE BALL IN THE MIDFIELD AND BEATS THE KEEPER!!!! GOAL OF THE YEAR FOR A 3-1 LEAD!!!!

An alternate angle of the call against Baumgartl that wiped out the #AllForCITY opener. I see lots of contact, but nothing outside the realm of normal for a set piece that close to the area. I also don't see anything that warranted the whistle. Just because a player goes down, does not mean there is a foul. If anything perhaps it was a case of incidental contact between the legs of Polvara and the defender; but its still soft.

I’ve realized that I never sent an update on why there haven’t been any breakdowns yet — my favorite thing to do and something #AllForCITY seem to enjoy as well. First off: yes, they’ll absolutely be back! With the loss of some of our favorite data sources and the arrival of a few new ones, the format may change slightly, but they will be back! As the season approached, I also realized Mondays just don’t work for my schedule anymore. So I’m thinking Wednesdays instead — it gives a little more time to sit down, watch, and really think through the match. I’m also trying to be mindful that with a new manager it’s hard to draw too many strong conclusions early. The plan is to return next week with some takeaways from the first three games and what they might mean going forward.
