@connorp864 @Jeff20491232 @MercuriusFilius I don’t agree, because the original Monty problem the game show host knows which door to open- so we can therefore assume they picked the goat, changing the odds to 2/3. This is a random, sealed and blank envelope. So unless the interviewer knew their envelope the odds change

What is the most busybody law in Australia? - Most minor - Most victimless - Harshest punishment I always thought it was bicycle helmet laws, but the $1251 fine for holding (not using, holding) a mobile phone on a bike in Queensland takes the cake. Are there any even worse?

Travelling to America as an Australian is terrifying. Because living in Australia, we're sheltered. We're far from the rest of the world. Our State Sponsored Media tells you that Australia has the best of everything in the world. That our culture and lifestyle is unmatched. But as soon as you arrive in America it is blindingly obvious how false that is. America feels explosive, alive, chaotic, rich. It's loud, obnoxious, unapologetic. There's no hint of tall poppy syndrome. And no constant nagging of the Nanny State. America is accelerating into an unknown future without fear. There are so many technological innovations here that would never see the light of day in Australia, because they would be strangled by regulation. Australia is beautiful, sure. But it's safe, quiet, controlled. Media and society tell you to conform, comply, be seen and not heard. Take the safe option. Be fearful of new things. Be fearful of the future. The spark of innovation is stifled. The light of creativity is discouraged. The warmth of the collective is more important than the rugged individual. And as time goes on, one of the two countries is going to be left behind. It's pretty clear which country that is. So, it's terrifying. And before I came here, everyone said I should be terrified of America. That I wouldn't be let it the country. That everyone is rioting. That Hitler runs the country. That couldn't be further from the truth. Their brains have been absolutely fried by Australian State Sponsored media.

@peteryates1968 @SandyofCthulhu Carriers are the flex they once were. Ukraine has shown the importance of drones and UAVs. And our LHDs are heavier than the Italian carriers and only 14m shorter, so pretty comparable.

The Italian navy built a carrier in 1983, and designed it with a ski jump deck so Harrier jets could take off. The Italian air force invoked a law from 1937 (Mussolini’s era) that stated fixed wing aircraft couldn’t be on carriers so for 6 years the carrier floated around with a useless ski jump, hosting only helicopters. Finally in 1989 the law changed and now Italy has two carriers both of which can operate F-35s.

Anika Wells comes in at 34th out of all MP’s who’ve claimed family assistance. That’s a long way from the top. Bob Katter in number one for exceedingly the $1,000 threshold for COMCARS. Which is exceeding $1,000 per COMCAR trip.

So “Captain” Kelly, not only did your sedition video intentionally undercut good order & discipline…but you can’t even display your uniform correctly. Your medals are out of order & rows reversed. When/if you are recalled to active duty, it’ll start with a uniform inspection.
Senator Mark Kelly@SenMarkKelly

When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents. In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much. Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death. If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.

@muststaycalm Point being the technology of yesterday is needed to create the technology of tomorrow. In 1915 horses w/ more reliable than cars. Limited roads, limited infrastructure (fuel stations), limited mechanics and parts. History is made of the doers, not the “keep it as it is”

🇦🇺 The ‘green’ saviours have arrived! Massive wind turbines shipped all the way from China on a fossil-fueled behemoth, belching out thousands of tonnes of CO2 just to get to Brisbane Because nothing says ‘saving the environment’ like burning bunker fuel to transport eco-toys that might offset those emissions…in 10 or 20 years after manufacture, transport, installation & maintenance of the turbines & transmission lines Meanwhile, Australia’s landscape gets cluttered with bird-choppers made in polluting Chinese factories powered by Australian coal we dig up & ship overseas that is sold to the user for a third of the cost Australian domestic users now pay for energy Australia is governed by the rapacious, the ideologically captured & useful idiots for net zero that don’t care about the cost of “renewables” to the people, the environment & the economy Once the lucky country, Australia’s luck has run out
