@MobiusMr @KaiserNeko The thing is whether you believe that or not is irrelevant. The corporations that pay for most art don't care that. If your not employing an artist your not the one making the decision in the end. I'm not saying anything about morality of AI here, only about capitalism.

@KaiserNeko Even if the government passes a law that requires AI companies to ethically source their training material, I think that only delays the inevitable. I think the long-term solution to stuff like this is UBI, but that's probably a long ways away.

@KaiserNeko I feel very bad for y'all, but at the same time think you're facing the same problem as the horse and buggy people did when the automobile came along. At some point companies are just going to stop hiring artists when they see it's cheaper to use AI, especially as AI improves.

@KenrikMarch @oryxspioenkop People who say (insert product here) makes you badass are tools. It's your actions that determine your badassness not whatever car you happen to be driving. If you were doing something really cool with the truck then maybe.

The very TQ he says kill people is the one actually being applied to the soldier in the video, a soldier which he claims was saved. Video is supposedly from 3rd assault brigade and it seems they feel comfortable using the dinpro gen2 t.me/ukrbavovna/101…

@PhillipsPOBrien Well the capture of Robotyne is not really good indication of a a success or lack thereof. In order to make a big strategic difference, I think they probably have to make it to Melitopol or otherwise cut off the Russian GLOC.

@TheBrianMcManus Isn't the F-16 the first fly by wire fighter jet? That and it's implications for flight controls is something that would make a good discussion.

@sentdefender You say that but China has been hiring Western fighter pilots to teach them about Western tactics for a while now. If an F-16 pilot wants to go to join Ukraine they can and will.

There is a very big difference between Army Veterans going to Fight on the Frontline for Ukraine and Pilots going to operate F-16s; unlike Soldiers these Pilots would 100% have to get the Approval of their respective Governments which is doubtful to happen, especially for U.S. Pilots, considering the Risk to their Expertise and the possible need for them in the near Future.
Jay in Kyiv@JayinKyiv

Something tells me this will be a popular program.. If you're a former F-16 pilot who never got a chance to turn Russians into wormfood but often dreams of how beautiful that would be, Ukraine now offers you the chance.

@PhillipsPOBrien Also, it's a bit naive to think that the Russians couldn't be going farther in attempting genocide. Indiscriminate strikes on civilians are bad of course, but that's not the same as a "final solution" sort of genocide where Ukrainians are being rounded up and sent to death camps.

@PhillipsPOBrien Phillip, it is wishful thinking that Putin's successor will be better. It could end up being a hardliner who more fully mobilizes society and has a better grasp on tactics. That being said, I don't think we should be denying aid to Ukraine because of that.

Question? How could one be worse than Putin? We have mass war crimes daily, attempted genocide, child abduction on an industrial scale, a willingness to slaughter his own population, a leader who is impoverishing his own country and threatening to starve much of the world.
Yaroslav Trofimov@yarotrof

Would Russia’s next leader be worse or better than Putin? While Ukraine, the Russian opposition and some of Russia’s neighbors see an opportunity, others focus on the risks. My @WSJ Review cover piece. wsj.com/world/russia/s…

@DJSnM Very cool, although The moon landing mission is as described as supposed to be taking place in 2024 so they're a bit out of the times. I'm just hoping we get a 2026 landing at this point.

A while back I'd regularly get comments from weird people about how millennials were going to destroy society. I'd just point at Johnny Kim. (sometimes the commenter would say he was the same age as Johnny so he couldn't be a millennial) coffeeordie.com/jonny-kim
