Here's what surprised me about some of these jobs held by H1B foreigners. I've always heard that companies use H1Bs to pay lower wages. But $300k is a high salary, especially for a remote engineering job requiring 2 years experience. This makes me wonder if it's not really about the financial bottom line. Perhaps these companies & managers are hiring H1Bs -- at higher salaries than they would even offer to U.S. Citizens -- because of nepotism, patronage networks, and possibly even some kind of kickback scheme? What do we think?
