@johnredwood Your party was in government when this was happening, you brought them to the ground to sell them. John Major privatised the water companies, after 15 years tories in power.

When we had a nationalised water industry it took the EU to highlight our dirty beaches. UK Government and the industry wanted to keep quiet about their sewage discharges.

@DavidVance Rubbish Davide. National economics have nothing to do with a household. Households do not own the Bank of England and cannot print money as the bank did to bail out the banks in 2008 and now the banks force the taxpayers to foot the bill.

Thatcher understood that a nation must live within its means, just like a household. She’s never been forgiven for it.

Labour, Reform and the Greens are all obsessed with re-nationalising everything. Only @KemiBadenoch's Conservatives back business to create growth and prosperity.

@HarrietCross_MP No surprise you advocate to maintain the price cartels of foods like fresh meat, poultry and vegetables with huge amounts of packaging.

Instead of food price caps, governments should be making the cost of doing business less expensive. More regulation, more tax, more costs do (unsurprisingly) lead to higher prices. 🥀Labour keep missing the obvious - higher costs for businesses mean higher costs for consumers.

1,000 jobs are lost in our North Sea oil and gas sector every month, as a direct result of Labour's ban on new drilling licences. It's an act of national self-harm that will harm Aberdeen’s and Britain's economic future. @RussellFindlay1 and I agree - this cannot go on.

The Labour government says that food prices are too high and that food retailers should cap their prices. The Labour government is introducing a new £2bn tax increase on food retailers which will push up prices. Go figure!!!! thetimes.com/business/compa…

🚨 Britain isn’t working under Labour. In the last month, 100,000 fewer people have a job. Why? Because Rachel Reeves has battered our economy. The Jobs Tax. Red tape. Soaring business rates. Sky-high energy bills. We’re all paying the price for her failure.

@ForwardBritain_ @ZackPolanski Rubbish, bloated become the billionaires that suck the life out of Britain. The water industries are bankrupt, and require constant bailouts. Bring water back to public ownership.

Zack Polanski and the usual suspects demanding full public ownership of water again. We’ve seen this film before, nationalised industries become bloated, inefficient and bleed taxpayers dry while service barely improves. Thames Water’s mess needs fixing through proper regulation and investment, not another Labour-style nationalisation that ends with higher bills and political failure. British families can’t afford more socialist experiments.

Rachel Reeves borrowed a whooping £24.3bn in April. Let that number sink in… U.K debt has soared, investors are abandoning the country, Labour's policies are all wrong and creating extensive damage for us all. telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

We will be charged the price of rejoining. The European Court of Justice would reign supreme over us again. telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202… In Britain, Parliament has always passed law, which is then interpreted by the courts. Since we’ve had European law infect us, which we’re now out of, progressively more and more the courts were empowered to overrule Parliament. Parliament is sovereign, and we have to make that very clear, that there may be a so-called Supreme Court, but it is not above Parliament. The problem is every time the Supreme Court has the right to rule referencing a foreign court, then that makes Parliament less and less. Rejoining would also make it impossible to leave the European Convention of Human Rights. Being a member of the non-EU Council of Europe human rights watchdog and its court is a prerequisite for joining the EU.

Gordon Brown is a bad choice as PM ‘s financial adviser. Wrong to sell gold, missed out on £40 bn gain; bought RBS shares, which lost taxpayers £10.5 bn; recommended joining the EU’s ERM which lost UK more than £3bn. Today wrong to think closer ties to EU will boost growth.

Why are UK taxpayers paying for foreigners to live in social housing? This is utter madness 48% of London social housing is occupied by people born abroad Only citizens should receive benefits We must abolish Indefinite Leave to Remain Citizenship requirements: * 15 years residence + * English fluency + * evidence of integration + * not being a burden on the state during those previous 15 years + * ability to support yourself or, if a housewife etc., to be supported by your partner
Talk@TalkTV

72% of Somalis in Britain live in social housing. Rafe Heydel-Mankoo: "Nobody should get social housing unless they're a British citizen!" Plank Of The Week: youtu.be/rgxkHQHDn5E @TVKev @SamaramGill @DobbsandPolicy @RafHM @HowardCCox
