Former Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has accused Embracer Group of secretly benefiting from the 2022 lawsuit that tried to block Microsoft’s $67.8 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard. The lawsuit was filed by Swedish pension fund AP7 during Microsoft’s acquisition deal. In a court filing, Kotick claimed: “This Delaware lawsuit was apparently aimed to help pave the way for Embracer to increase its foothold in the California market at the expense of Activision.” He also called Embracer a “potential secret collaborator on the suit.” Kotick argued the lawsuit made it harder for Activision Blizzard to hire talent and grow through acquisitions. Embracer Group denied the accusations and responded: “Although it is perhaps difficult to accept for Mr. Kotick, we did not and do not need any help from a Swedish pension fund in competing with Activision.”

Canada has introduced a new rule for major streaming companies like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and Spotify. The new law requires streaming companies earning more than 25 million dollars annually in Canada to spend 15% of their Canadian revenue on Canadian and Indigenous movies, TV shows, music, and news. They can produce new Canadian content or contribute to special Canadian media funds. Previously the requirement was only 5%, so the new amount is much larger. The government believes this could generate more than 2 billion dollars yearly to support Canadian programs and French-language shows. At the same time, traditional TV and radio stations will face lighter rules to keep the system fair.

A major breakthrough in controller calibration has been achieved for Xbox hardware. >An unpatchable method now permanently writes custom joystick settings directly into the controller’s built-in memory. This means the fix cannot be blocked, removed, or changed by Microsoft or through future firmware updates. >Developed through collaboration between modyfikatorcasper, Lewy20041, and DriftGuard, the solution offers manual and automatic joystick calibration to permanently fix stick drift. >It also allows any joystick module to be replaced while maintaining factory-level accuracy and extending the controller’s lifespan. >The method works flawlessly on every Xbox controller model with no exceptions -Xbox 360 (all versions) -Xbox One Standard (1537/1697) -Xbox One S/X (1708) -Xbox Series S/X (1914) -Xbox Elite V1 (1698) -Xbox Elite V2/Core (1797) >The same DriftGuard tool also supports calibration for many other controllers, including all PS4 versions (JDM-010 to JDM-055), PS5 DualSense and Edge, Scuf controllers, Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers, and Joy-Cons. >Calibration data is saved directly inside the controller, so the settings continue to work on any connected device.

@Pirat_Nation NVIDIA’s biggest long-term threat might not be AMD. It might be China building an entirely separate domestic GPU ecosystem from scratch.

Chinese company Lisuan Tech has launched the LX 7G100, a new gaming graphics card that aims to compete with products from NVIDIA > The GPU comes with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory > Early independent benchmarks show real-world gaming performance landing closer to an RTX 3060 level, trailing the RTX 4060 by 20-70% in most titles depending on the game and settings. >The price ranges from 2,969 to 3,299 yuan, about $436 to $485 USD. >Only 1,000 units are available in the first launch batch. The launch is an important step for China’s gaming hardware industry, as very few Chinese companies have entered the dedicated gaming GPU market before.

BREAKING: Memory prices could COLLAPSE as China rapidly floods the market with DRAM and NAND chips. China's CXMT RAM is selling for $150, while the global average price is around $300 to $400. Chinese memory giants CXMT and YMTC are aggressively ramping production, threatening the dominance of Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron. CXMT now controls 7.7% of the global DRAM market and YMTC already holds 11 to 13% of the global NAND flash market. CXMT revenue already exploded 719% YoY in Q1 2026 to 50.8 billion yuan ($7.4B), swinging from losses to massive profits. Chinese memory chips are often priced 15%+ below competitors, making them highly attractive for consumer PCs, servers, and storage devices. Corsair already testing DDR5 modules using CXMT chips, while other brands like Acer and Asus asking suppliers to source Chinese memory. China’s strategy is simple - flood the memory market with cheap DRAM and NAND chips, undercut competitors and capture global market share. Samsung adviser Kyung Kye hyun already warned memory prices could fall back toward low levels by 2028 if supply expands too quickly.

@Pirat_Nation NVIDIA’s problem is basically airline economics for GPUs. A small percentage of users consume massive amounts of server time, and AI demand is making compute even more expensive.

Nvidia director Andrew Fear recently addressed the 100-hour monthly playtime limit introduced for GeForce Now’s paid Performance and Ultimate tiers. Fear explained the reasoning: “We understand everyone’s concern and that everyone is upset about it, but we’re trying to find a way to make sure that the people who are abusing our service are not taking away capacity from everyone. That’s the first principle.” On potential improvements, he responded positively to suggestions for a true unlocked tier with no monthly cap: “They’ve even asked us about offering an unlocked tier plan. Yeah, we’re thinking about it. We’re thinking about other options. We haven’t announced new things yet, but we’re definitely looking at new ideas for plans and ways to let people get additional playtime. One could be a family plan.” Current tiers include Free (1-hour sessions, lower priority), Performance (6-hour sessions), and Ultimate (8-hour sessions with RTX 5080-class servers and highest priority).

The UK government has rolled out GOVUK Chat, a new AI assistant built into the official app. The chatbot helps people find answers about government services using information from thousands of official guidance pages already available online. There’s a catch, though, you can’t use it anonymously. Anyone who wants to try the feature must sign in or create a GOVUK One Login account before asking questions. That has led to privacy concerns, especially since the same information is freely available on the GOVUK website without logging in. Wonder how they will use all the data collected…
