Food delivery used to be something we would do when life was busy. Sometimes even twice in one day if we were slammed.
We haven’t ordered delivery in over a year now.
The food prices are higher, the app fees are higher, the tip is higher, and by the time it gets to your door it doesn’t feel like convenience anymore. It feels like paying restaurant prices plus a penalty for not getting in the car.
Restaurants have their own costs, so I get why prices went up. But for a normal family budget, it’s just not doable like it used to be.
Cooking at home wins now.
