$749,000,000,000 is the kind of number people throw around when they want to feel morally superior without doing the boring part — arithmetic. First lie: it treats “wealth” as if it’s a pallet of cash you can wheel into a warehouse. It isn’t. Even if that figure is meant to be someone’s net worth, it’s mostly equity: shares priced at the margin, not a bank balance. To “use” it, you’d have to force liquidation. That doesn’t realise the headline number — it crushes the price while you sell, triggers tax effects, hits counterparties, and detonates pension funds and index trackers holding the same equity. Congratulations: you didn’t fund social programmes, you just set fire to balance sheets. Second lie: it pretends social problems are one-off purchases. Housing “every homeless person permanently” isn’t “a cheque”. It’s land, planning, construction capacity, local opposition, staffing, addiction and mental-health services, policing, maintenance, and decades of operating cost. Even the best “Housing First” programmes aren’t free once the keys are handed over — the expensive bit is keeping people housed. Third lie: “erase all medical debt”. You can buy receivables or subsidise write-downs, but the machinery that creates medical debt stays in place. So you “solve” it once, and the conveyor belt restarts the next day. Same with “end global poverty for years”: poverty isn’t a single invoice; it’s institutions, productivity, energy, infrastructure, property rights, governance, and trade. Money helps at the margin; it doesn’t replace competence. Fourth lie: “provide clean drinking water for the whole world” and “ensure every child has education” are systems problems. Pipes, treatment plants, logistics, corruption controls, teachers, curricula, safety, and recurring budgets. These aren’t Kickstarter stretch goals. They’re ongoing governance and capacity. So yes, the post is stupid: it’s hashtag morality built on the fantasy that you can confiscate a number, press “pay”, and have civilisation update like an app. Reality doesn’t work like that — and pretending it does is how you end up making everything worse while feeling virtuous about it.

$749,000,000,000 That could house every homeless person in America. Permanently. With change. Erase all medial debt in the USA. With change. Provide clean drinking water for the whole world. End global poverty. For years. Ensure every child worldwide has education.

@george_nqu It's also what comes from working on multiple different apps in multiple different sectors solving other people's problems. Like you said, if you only ever stay in your own echo chamber you don't know what you don't know. Congrats to your continued success!

We were blinded by our existing way of building. That's what a client told me after we audited their Bubble app. They had two in-house developers who'd been building for years. Smart people. But they only ever saw their own code, so they didn't know what they didn't know. They've never seen the 'better way'. We created best practices by seeing what happens to apps that don't follow them. When you've fixed the same mistake across 50+ projects, you stop making it. Your in-house team has the potential to be outstanding. They just need to see what "good" looks like from outside their own echo chamber. That's the real value of an external partner - not replacing your team, but giving them perspective they can't get on their own.

This client’s SaaS runs entire companies across the US. They used work with another Gold tier @bubble agency but came to us because they weren’t able to ship critical features fast enough. Their previous agency gave the app a team of 8. We get more done with a team of 1. And we get to solve the complex problems that nobody else is able to tackle.

This is what happens when your developers bill hourly and never truly understand your business. You need a developer that understands your core business goals, and is incentivised to build your app as maintainably as possible. That’s why the most successful apps in the ecosystem eventually make their way to us.

this @bubble app worked with a large agency for 3 years. Can you tell?

@Jason I've done multiple live demos for educators using the various different LLM models and can get all but one to teach me to make legit bio weapons in 16 prompts or less. There's one it only takes 5 prompts on average. And these are the off the shelf versions. #justsaying

AI safety is being handled well by the major LLMs so far. go ask any major LLM how bioweapons or bombs are made, as but one example. In fact, I can't think of a single example of a new law that needs to be explicitly created to address AI safety — can you? [ $1 a month to charity to reply below; if you're cheap just do a quote retweet with your answer and i will see it ]

Hey @bubble just an FYI, everyone I've ever taught to use your platform has clicked on the wrong thing when they first start working with option sets.

Anybody else thinking this dude is straight up lying and was driving the van earlier when it overturned and just trying to make them think he’s got nothing to do with it? His cameras don’t happen to be working either….. #OPLive #OPNation
