The Nujaba Movement publicly rejected any plan to integrate the PMU into Iraqi state institutions, warning that "the resistance's weapons are not open to compromise." The trigger: a visit by former CENTCOM commander David Petraeus, which Nujaba immediately framed as a US plot to dismantle the armed factions. This is the core problem facing Baghdad. PM al-Zaidi wants a state monopoly over weapons after years of cross-border attacks blamed on Iranian-aligned groups. But those groups don't answer to him. They answer to Tehran. 🇵🇰 The Balochistan Liberation Army just claimed the Quetta train bombing in Pakistan.
Their "fidayee" suicide unit, meaning self-sacrificing, carried out the attack, targeting what the BLA called "occupying forces" travelling from Quetta Military Cantonment.
The BLA is a separatist militant group fighting for an independent Balochistan, designated as a terrorist organization by Pakistan, the U.S. and the UK.
They have carried out some of the deadliest attacks in Pakistan's history, targeting security forces, Chinese nationals on CPEC projects and civilian infrastructure across the province.
Pakistan has been fighting this war way longer than most people have been paying attention to it.

Cypriot officials have officially expressed interest in acquiring Indian loitering munitions, specifically naming the Nagastra-1 and Sky Striker as the systems they want.
This is also bigger than one sale. Cyprus is an EU member sitting at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, actively seeking NATO membership, and increasingly anxious about its own security after getting caught in the Iran war's spillover.
Indian defense exports entering that market is a significant shift in who the region is turning to for hardware.

Most people applying for green cards now have to do it from overseas instead of while already in the U.S.
This is a pretty big immigration clampdown. A lot of skilled workers, tech pros, and families who used to adjust their status here will now have to leave the country and wait abroad.

🇩🇪 Germany is now considering paying Syrian refugees €8,000 each to leave voluntarily.
That's 8x the current bonus. Over 900,000 Syrians live in Germany without citizenship.
Do the math: if even a fraction take the deal, this gets expensive fast. But keeping them long-term costs more.
The real signal here is political. Germany spent years defending its open-door policy, now its own Interior Ministry is engineering financial exits.
Europe's migration debate has quietly shifted from "how do we welcome them" to "how do we encourage them to go back."
The €8,000 question is whether enough Syrians, many of whom have built lives in Germany over the past decade, will take the money and leave.
