In 2021, India enacted the Dam Safety Act — a landmark law establishing a unified national framework for the safety of all large dams. Here is what the Act means for you: → All large dams must be regularly inspected by qualified engineers → Every dam must have an Emergency Action Plan protecting downstream communities → State Dam Safety Organisations are mandated to oversee compliance → Dam owners bear direct legal responsibility for the safety of their structure → NDSA provides oversight, technical guidance, and national coordination Dam safety is not just an engineering matter. Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) Chess Team secured the 3rd Position in the Inter Ministry Team Chess Tournament 2025-26, held from 25th-27th Aug 2025. Total 17 Central Gov. Ministries/Autonomous Organizations participated in tournament organized by CCSCSB, DoPT.

The heinous assault on Shri Achal Jindal, Manager, NHAI PIU Shimla, allegedly by the Minister of Panchayati Raj, Himachal Pradesh, and his associates, is deeply reprehensible and an affront to the rule of law. Such a brutal attack on a public servant performing his official duties not only endangers individual safety but also erodes institutional integrity. I have taken serious cognizance of the matter and spoken with the Chief Minister, Shri @SukhuSukhvinder Ji, urging immediate and exemplary action against all perpetrators. Accountability must prevail, and justice must be delivered without delay.
