@henningsanden @ArtOfPilgrim It can yeah, so you have to be careful! in this example the stretching is quite minimal though and mostly in areas that won't be seen all that much (like the armpits)

@CapableWizard @ArtOfPilgrim Thank you! In this image, the edges are square, which seems like a great way to utilize UV space more, but doesnt this cause issues with stretching, particularly if you use tileables in engine?

@ArtOfPilgrim @henningsanden so it is sometimes useful, but it's a very very niche situation. It's also quite handy to have perfectly symmetrical UVs just as a data source (for mirroring blendshapes left to right for example) although there are other ways to do this normally.

@ArtOfPilgrim @henningsanden Because the torso UVs are perfectly mirrored, I can find the exact position of the centre UVs from Maya and use a mirror filter to ensure the texture lines up with the UV seam perfectly. In this example I'd have to do this again for the back part.
