@trq212 The user is spending 12k a month on GCP, this is not a reasonable expense not part of an organisation. Disabling billing 🫪

@Olamide216855 @ayeejuju It’s been a setting for as long as I remember. It was opt in. As an Android user that was gifted an iPod touch, I was offended that Apple “thought I was so stupid I didn’t need precision” no idea when that was but call it circa 2010.

@mclIark Did not know this. This is like reaching PMF for ideas. If I balance my aura right, my value to society and civilisation from my for profit shlop will be much much larger than the good that I do through my charitable shlop.

@HeidiBriones I have every idea. At this rate food in the UK will become 3 items that come in 2.4 million combinations. | today’s brain farted out of my head. Somethin about 2% profit, meal deal culture, Gen Z lunch debate, everyone in the uk competing for who can be the most financial median.

You have no idea how many businesses would shut down if everyone in the USA started making wise financial decisions.

@nkwii671 @Kirby0Louise It’s not stability issues. For simplicity imagine old gpus can +-&x but new gpus use %, where % enables incredible features (sometimes just better for the developers) getting to the end and trying to then make your game work without % is hard.

@Kirby0Louise That doesn't justify locking shit behind hardware checks. If the user runs the game below minimal requirements, he already knows to expect stability issues and crashes

@beaversteever In principle, of course. But say one bloke uses 1T tokens on behalf of 1000 people. Do the 1000 people enjoy the benefits and the one bloke get taxed? Because if your answer is just tax business then small businesses die. I think maybe… I’m not an economist.

it's very obvious that in the future human output will be untaxed and AI output will be heavily taxed, as a way of subsidizing human workers

@FarestR06 @RealestMemes_ What Rob said. But Apple open sourced it in 2002 and it ended up getting adopted by all sorts of systems for local network discovery for example Sonos.

@RealestMemes_ It’s a driver included with Apple programs like iTunes. It’s supposed to help Windows work with iPhone over the network, but I admittedly have no idea how it’s actually USED. It’s not bad though, worst case scenario uninstalling might cause connectivity issues, but idk

anthropic and openAI are conducting the world’s largest experiment to prove that the model shaped by interfaith dialogue, deep ethical considerations and a principled constitution will score within 3 SWE bench percentage points of the goblin model RLHFd on whatever was going.
Anthropic@AnthropicAI

Over the past few months, we've been holding dialogues with scholars, philosophers, clergy, and ethicists on the questions AI raises—starting with how good character forms. Read more about how we’re widening the conversation on frontier AI: anthropic.com/news/widening-…

@justalexoki I… rather embarrassingly. Got as far as paper book trading. Tested every strategy I’d bookmarked on X (accumulated over 6 months of fomo) needless to say. I’m down. That said learning evidence.dev, quant slang and a lot of sql optimisation has been a fun.

I know this seems obvious but xHigh > low reasoning. Last week I was gaslit into believing the 5.5 low maxers. xHigh has now spent 36 hours following the /goal of tidying up the mess very effectively. Definitely would have been faster and cheaper to just xHigh in the first place.

@steipete @Dimillian Yes but. The CPU bottleneck for iOS dev is incremental builds take 2 minutes, cold builds take 15 and build caches are in the 10s of GB. It’s a raw always on large storage powerful box per runner problem. And as you know... $$$$$$ not just I need more concurrent cheap runners.

The bottleneck for iOS dev is truly the CPU now. It's hard to work on features in parallel and testing if the app is compiled locally.
